Don’t want to be coached. Been thst way for a while. He’s 67. If he’s smart he just retires. Life is short. Consult. Play golf. Maybe coach in college if he can’t do that but is anyone surprised?
Many college kids have a tough enough time putting their egos aside to play a team game. Never mind NBA players.

From what I've read, he didn't endear himself to the players treating them like college kids, forgetting that in the NBA the players, not the coach, hold the most power.
Also, that 'thugs' comment-though he later clarified he meant 'slugs'-didn't help either.
These guys don't want a coach, or listen to a coach. They just want to run around and chuck up 3's. I'm convinced coaches just take that job to get paid, and then wait to get fired. So in a sense Beilein did it perfectly.
To be fair, he was dealing primarily with Kyrie being off the reservation. You'd need Robin Williams as Sean from 'Good Will Hunting' to pull that off with Irving.

Beillein is a college coach. I loved watching his offenses when run properly and I hope he continues to coach.

Nullified many of the teams that are run by the players.
You just knew that he was going to have a short
'shelf life' in the NBA.
Except for last year on Stevens, didn't handle the egos
well last year. This is coming from a Celts fan...

yeah i mean he has had a target since he took the job.
and Lebron runs any narrative associated so that target not going away until they win.
he got an extension though so hes definitely set! just wishes had a mulligan on the Colin Sexton
the plan was to have bickerstaff take over eventually, they really like him, just didnt expect it this soon clearly!

That's good about the security.
Not surprising about Sexton. Just not a fit for today's NBA. They'd be in much better shape with SGA, if they were going to take a scoring PG.
Similar to the Knicks with Frank vs Donovan Mitchell
