-The Wade tributes — called “L3GACY Celebration” — will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Friday’s event at AmericanAirlines Arena will be a series of tributes to honor Wade’s impact on the Heat and the South Florida community. Wade’s jersey No. 3 will be retired Saturday before the Heat host the Cavaliers.
Sunday, a documentary will be screened highlighting Wade’s NBA career, with the 13-time All-Star and three-time champion addressing the crowd.
The Knicks will play in Miami on March 13. By then, Rose should officially be the Knicks’ president.
-The Los Angeles Lakers reportedly have interest in wing Moe Harkless if he asks for a buyout from the New York Knicks.
During an appearance on ESPN LA 710's The Sedano Show, Sam Amick of The Athletic (h/t Silver Screen and Roll's Christian Rivas) said Tuesday that the Lakers are monitoring Harkless' situation in the event that the Knicks part with him.
While it remains to be seen if a buyout will occur, Marc Berman of the New York Post reported after Harkless was traded to New York from the Los Angeles Clippers as part of the deal that sent Marcus Morris to L.A. that the Knicks are willing to grant Harkless a buyout if he asks for one.
I assume this is done to be looked upon favorably by other NBA players but I have not seen it play out that way at all. I also assume the losing team saves some cash (not cap space).
The lineup the rest of the season needs to be:
PG: Frank/Denis
SG: RJ/Dotson
SF: Knox/Iggy
PF: Randle
C: Mitch
Those guys need to play 30-40 mins per game and I don't care if they go small ball and move Randle to center and play this lineup at times:
PG: Denis
SG: Frank
SF: Barrett/Iggy
PF/C: Knox/Randle/Mitch
Bullock/Ellington/Portis/Gibson need to be coaches on the bench
Luckily the "second half" is really just the final third of the season - Knicks have already played 55 games. But I agree, there won't be much gained the rest of the way. Just waiting til the offseason so we can blow things up again.
I very much look forward to a couple of first round picks replacing these vets next season.
Portis - absolutely not
Taj - seems like a good mentor and honestly could be worse uses of cap space. Also can see wanting to free up minutes for Mitch and Julius as a C but will need more bigs anyway until Mitch can prove to consistently not foul.
Ellington - not worth $8m cap hit
Payton - don't love him but probably our best PG so keep him for next year. One more year doesn't hinder Frank if he develops and I have no faith DSJ will be playable next year.
Bullock - worth keeping at his small ($4.2m) number
Portis - absolutely not

I'd actually keep them all other than maybe Ellington.
Portis has value as a large expiring for a disgruntled star.
Jon makes a good point about the Portis contract, but I still think Portis and Ellington are goners.
Randle becomes an expiring contract next year, too (team option for following season), so they still have that to work with for trade purposes.
Does a bear shit in the woods?
Trying to be optimistic as well. But even though he’s been successful and well know around the league, he’s never made one trade or drafted one player. That scares me- especially the drafting aspect.
Has anyone heard why they didn’t wait to hire Rose? Was he really saying no to this job in June?
And Portis has to go. Terrible player and his expiring contract isn’t worth anything. Just get the cap space.
He needs to change the culture. Some small things they need to do that will make people laugh:
1) Move the practice facility from White Plains to a more city friendly location. (Players have been on record, complaining about this).
2) Hire good developmental coaches - (Esp a shooting coach)
3) Rework the training staff

below 30% from 3-point territory and,
below 50% from the free-throw line“
Unless they get incredibly luck with the Dallas picks, the Knicks got absolutely nothing for Porzingis. I really wonder what a competent GM could have gotten for him. But a competent GM wouldn’t have traded him...

I agree that the yield was slim. But I would have traded him if the alternative was to sign him to a Five-Year, $158 Million Contract.
The former All-Star, 48, is currently the GM of the G-League affiliate in Westchester and has been a Knicks executive since 2008, surviving multiple regime changes while being groomed for a larger role. He also served as the Knicks assistant GM before and during Phil Jackson’s tenure.
While Houston’s future with the organization seems safe, the rest of the front office is mostly in flux. According to a source, the Knicks hoped to hire Grizzlies executive Rich Cho but that’s now off the table. Word is Cho is happy in Memphis, where he serves as the vice president of basketball strategy for a franchise on the rise that features Ja Morant.
