He wants to be in a big town. Why not send him to our louder, quirkier cousins? I'm afraid I'll soon have that sad feeling about Beckham that I have about Nicks, Cruz, Steve Smith, Manningham, etc. That is, I think his top speed is gone and we are watching him fade out over the next couple seasons. He was glorious for us for a while, too bad we always sucked.

The one glaring difference between Beckham and the above four receivers is that they all brought Superbowl Championships to the Giants. Odell is a Drama-Queen who does not elevate his teammates. Odell Beckham has not won at any level.
The question is; what is his trade value now? Cleveland may have to sell .50 cents on the dollar vis-a-vis what they spent to acquire him from the Giants.

If the Giants with OBJ had the same defense, OL, RBs that we had during our championships I would be willing to bet we have more than 2 rings to show for it.
How are articles like this still allowed to be published
What will he be costing? What's his mental health can he come here and actually not be a disruptive prick. He can want whatever he wants and have his camp put out these feelers...I don't see Gase and Douglas trusting Beckhams behavior will be anything near acceptable long term.
Sometimes where there's smoke there's fire but I don't think there is any here. He never wanted to go to Cleveland and I think he'll be in a more high profile location next year but it won't be New York

The point is that OBJ is a great player that "does not elevate his teammates". Just like Tiki. In fact the Giants won SB 42 inspite (some have argued because) of Tiki's tumultuous retirement. There were fewer distractions and "anonymous sources".

Tiki gone allowed Eli Manning to be the team leader that was needed for a run to the Super Bowl and a Lombardi trophy. Shockey sitting in the stands drinking adult beverages during the actual Super Bowl also helped in that regard.
I can't understand what those who think tiki should be in the Hall of Fame base their thinking on.

Tiki never bothered Eli. And if you don't think the Giants were a better team with Tiki playing RB then you are being obtuse. Tiki was a weapon, both a receiving and running threat and one of the best RBs in the league.
Shockey is a whole other story. Tiki's personal life is something else, dumping his 8 month pregnant wife is as low as it gets. Tiki's dislike of Coughlin is documented. But Tiki was not a problem for Eli.
He had issues with Strahan and others. Like OBJ, Tiki was neither a team first guy nor a leader as was buttressed by AP's comments when Tiki tried to make a come back. We called him "Miki" in this board. Odell disrespected, defiled and cursed ("FUed") out the head coach in openly.
It is hard to win a championship without the superstar players buying fully in. OBJ and Tiki were primarily about themselves.
How again do you spell D-I-S-T-R-A-C-T-I-O-N? They were/are both great players but not winners. I will like to think that the Giants are about winning championships.
because you have to understand what he was about. Tiki was (and is) a highly intelligent guy and the numbers he put up when he was playing towards the end of his career were Hall of Fame worthy.
I happened to have a few people who know Tiki personally and have worked with him (I've met him a few times since his retirement). Tiki was always focused on his post playing career. He used to host overnights on WFAN in the offseason to refine his craft. He did his stuff with NBC and got on the Today Show. He was on NBC's football coverage (as we know). But Tiki's worst enemy, honestly, was Tiki and he brings a lot of his issues on himself. His publicized marriage mess and cheating on his pregnant wife with his intern and the comments about Eli helped make him radioactive in the NY media scape. I've said on here many times, Strahan is literally living the life that Tiki wanted for himself. One huge difference was Strahan stayed on one year longer and got his ring. And Strahan has also had his share of his personal life go sideways (remember his ex-wife essentially holding a garage sale on the front lawn of their Montclair mansion selling all his shit?)
I can tell you that I've asked Tiki directly about his issues with Coughlin. What Tiki told me long ago was that Tiki was an adult. He understood what it meant to be a professional. He thought the 5 minute early things and some of his rules were overboard and unnecessary. He thought Coughlin was too regimented and his rules were really for more immature players. Tiki didn't see himself like that (again, take that as one of his character flaws or accurate). And at the end of all of this, when Tiki retired, Mara went up to him to ask him his opinion of Coughlin, and he told Mara that he thought he was a good coach, just that he didn't get along with all his rules, but he made him a better player and that factored in to Mara's decision not to fire him (and keep in mind Tiki ran for 232 yards and 3 TDs to beat Washington in the last game and put the Giants in the playoffs).
Like I said, Tiki's worst enemy is Tiki. He talks alot and says things that come off badly and he thinks highly of himself which made him your typical "locker room lawyer".
Tiki helped the Giants win a hell of a lot more games than Odell did, that's for sure.
I think, and thought, that Tiki was a self-absorbed asshole, BUT
OBJ can't hold a candle to him on the field. And Tiki wasn't even close to the distraction that OBJ was and is. Tiki produced. All the time. In every aspect. Running, receiving and blocking. Once the fumble problem was resolved he was lethal.
From your first cigarette to you last dying day.
From your first cigarette to you last dying day.
When you're a Jet let 'em do what they can.
You've got brothers around, you're a family man.
Well the would mean he ends up in Philly
I guess all those doggies created a scent strong enough to reach Cleveland.
Time for it to magically appear!

This is really the peak of the invent stories for web clicks part of the offseason, isn’t it

Could be true but, where would you rather have dinner on a Saturday night? Downtown Cleveland or Manhattan?
