NFT: Wilder v. Fury II

Nick in LA : 2/20/2020 10:07 am
In spite of the fake WWE style dust up yesterday at the promo event I think this is going to be an awesome fight. I do think that Wilder will get the knockout by round 8.

What say you BBI?

Fury to win on points, but I'd be lying if I said I was confident.
Great athlete who punches very well

versus a very talented boxer who just happens to be 6-foot-9-inches tall.

It's as intriguing a rivalry as the heavyweight division has had in perhaps decades.

Can he stay fresh for 12 rounds not so sure. I have Wilder on points.
I think Wilder ends it somewhere in the first 6 rounds

but Fury could suprise & win about 10 of 12 if they take it the distance.
The whole drama is so dumb

Clearly just trying to hype up the match. Both guys seem to respect each other based on comments I remember reading after the first fight.

Wilder is the best heavyweight puncher since Tyson and arguably ever. It’s crazy how this wiry guy can generate so much power. And Fury is unique in his own right with his movement skills for his size being so smooth. I’ll probably be watching this, rooting for a Wilder KO.
Fury has made it a point to work on his

conditioning this time around. I have zero doubt he CAN go the distance. That said, can he avoid a Wilder bomb? I think that's the more pertinent thing.
Flip a coin fight

Can see a valid argument for either one.
Fury gonna come in heavier so I think he is gonna try to pressure wilder. Think that will trouble wilder but eventually wilder detonates one of those right hands reminiscent of what Tommy hearts bounced off pipino Cuevas temple or Roberto durans left cheek.

The most telling thing to me

was when Wilder said after the first fight that Fury has "pillow hands". I know that could just be all talk, but it just rang true for some reason to me, especially because Wilder has quite a jaw on him himself and didn't seem to be affected by Fury's punches. Of course, that doesn't change the fact that Fury could still win if the fight goes the distance.

But I don't think it's going the distance. Fury has said he is going to be way more aggressive going for the KO early, and I don't think there's any doubt Wilder will be even more aggressive. Usually you get two guys coming out the gate that aggressive it's unlikely the fight goes the full 12 rounds, and if it doesn't go 12 rounds then I give Wilder the MASSIVE advantage over Fury.

Remember when McGregor and Cerone both basically telegraphed their intention to go for an early KO, and then look what happened. Again, you get BOTH guys coming out looking for an early KO, those fights rarely go the distance. Fighters are more vulnerable when aggressive, and you combine vulnerability with aggressiveness on both sides and you get a much shorter fight. I just very much lean Wilder in that case because of his incredible power and the fact he's a true KO artist.
any link to the fight?

Anyone see the comment from Fury

That he gave up Diet Coke for his training. He was drinking upwards of 30 cans of diet coke a day!!!

Looking forward to this fight. It has been a long time since there has been this much buzz around a prize fight.

There are a few ways this fight ends. Wilder on points is not one of them. No chance.

This fight ends by a KO by Wilder or by decision by Fury. That's it.

What will happen? Fury has publicly stated that he wants to stand and bang with Wilder. He's fucked if he does. As much as I love my boy Fury... If he stands and bangs with Wilder, he is going down for good.

Can't wait.

I don't understand Fury's logic. Coming into the fight bigger and wanting to stand and bang with Wilder is probably tops on the list as dumbest ideas in a fight with Wilder. Deontay is going to take his soul if he does that.

This is interesting. Fury said that the entire reason that he plans on standing and banging with Wilder is because HE doesn’t think he can win a decision. Him being on US soil against an American champion.

I’m not saying you’re wrong, but he obviously disagrees with you, which I realize could be paranoia so who knows.

have overstated how clearly he was robbed of a decision. there were like 6 rounds he clearly won... several rounds he def lost- and he got knocked down twice.
this was not some robbery.... so changing his strategy seems a bit silly imo.... if he fights better he can win a decision
watching footage of Wilder train I don't know

is as bad as its ever been. Who has Fury ever beat? Please don't bother listing 39 year old Klitschko.
