NFT: Easiest Way To Get To Barclays from NJ

Mark from Jersey : 2/20/2020 11:17 am
Will be heading there for the first time in the near future. Doesn’t look easy to get to from NJ. How would you recommend getting there? Park in Hoboken or Jersey City and use mass transit? Thanks in advance.
I'm in Brooklyn a lot

and it's much easier to drive into the city imo. Driving to Hoboken/Jersey City and STILL having to take transit is a headache and will take longer.

When we go we just take the Holland tunnel and then the Brooklyn Bridge into downtown brooklyn. Atlantic Ave is the main strip near Barclays so you can easily park somewhere in Prospect Heights which is a nice area that isn't packed.

Just remember, yes the traffic is bad going into the tunnel in the evenings but once you actually get into Manhattan it's not nearly as bad.

Where from? I think if you're not driving, then you need to use the PATH to WTC, then the 4-5 train to Barclay's. If you're using the PATH from Hoboken, then hop off at 9th street and walk to the B-d train at W 4th St in the Village.

Path to subway sounds good.
This depends on where in NJ you are

I've lived in jersey City with a car, Park Slope with a car, and now am in JC/Hoboken border without a car.

If you're coming on the turnpike, south of exit 13, (to get to 278), just drive.

If you're not coming from that direction, you need to park near Hoboken or Journal sq (if you want a garage, go to jsq) and get to 14th, and then hop on a B or D. Yes, you could go to WTC and take the R, but it's closed on weekends. If it's a weekday, go to WTC. If not, you need to go to hoboken
One more thing, if you're going on the weekend

The 33rd st JSQ and Hoboken lines are combined, so it hits JSQ first, then goes to Grove, Newport, gets to Hoboken, stops for a few minutes, then goes to NYC.

Unless you NEED a garage and do not want to look for parking, it saves time to go straight to Hoboken.

Granted, if it's a weekday, hit WTC, but otherwise, you're gonna have to get on the 33rd st line and get off at 14th (B and D are in the same station as PATH, on 14th and 6th).

Man JC to BK is an annoying ride, but one I've done in both directions so many times...
