Could completely blow up (injury complications), or they could win the East. I’m kinda hoping they get a third big piece and ship Dinwiddie out in the process - poetic justice for all his yapping.
As a knicks fan I really wanted durant prior the injury and was 50/50 on signing him after the injury. One thing is for sure I had 0 interest in Kyrie Irving. Can’t stand him, he a team cancer. The nets actually play better without him. I know he is extremely talented but he is such a bad teammate and is a head case.
I told my Celtics friend in the off-season that they upgraded from Kyrie to Kemba. Kemba is not as good as Kyrie, that is a fact. But Kemba is a damn good player, who unlike Kyrie, never gets hurt and is a great teammate. Screw Kyrie.
and when he isn't hurt, he's pissing off all of his teammates. Next year's Brooklyn team should be fun to watch. Not because they'll be Finals contenders but because it'll be fascinating to see how everything plays out for Kyrie and Durant.
Are on the clock with Durant and Iriving only signed for the next 2 seasons. Won’t take many things to go wrong for both those 2 to start looking for the next team.
I usually hate questioning players injuries, but this feels suspect with Kyrie. What a wasted year for him.
100% had to take this risk based on the upside. If KD comes back as KD they are a championship contender. But yeah there was a lot of risk here and Kyrie missing so much time combined with the fact they have played better when he is hurt isnt a great start.
the nets/kyrie experience on a season where KD was never going to play and Kyrie was hurt--- already had their mind made up on the situation before hand... so there is that.
Soap opera crap for fans of the sensationalized. Get Irving healthy for next year. Focus on developing LeVert, Allen and hopefully Claxton. Figure what other pieces stay long term. Gain some playoff experience (hopefully).
So I guess we'll all just pretend that Kyrie Irving
will suddenly become a beacon of health and quality teammate next year? And that Durant will be "Durant" after a devastating basketball injury?
Listen, as a Knicks fan, i would have signed them too. So no judgement here. But it's not as simple as "just get healthy".
I don't see what is getting sensationalized. At least with Kyrie, things have gone just as everyone expected and feared. Team is better with him off the court and will on l play 20 games due to injury.
I'm guessing the expectation this season was to put up 45+ wins with a strong showing from Kyrie, and set the table for KD/Kyrie to make a run at the title next year. The title run may still happen, but nothing about this season was a positive step in that direction.
there is no conclusion to make other then this season is disappointing- Kyrie injury a concern- but the goal was always next year and zero is different in that regard.... so drawing broad conclusions, seems a bit ill timed and has the potential to have egg in the face... or not.
This will give Irving time to bone up for his duties as VP of the Player's Union. Another role which I'm sure he'll squander and flub.
I agree but no Kyrie no Durant.

hopefully he gets healthy with this surgery.

Wonder if they shipped his ass elsewhere, would Durant stay in
Brooklyn.
