NFT: I am the deciding vote on my annual Guys trip... help

So every year my best friends and I go on our annual guys trip. One of my buddy sets up the location choice as a bracket style tournament vote. This year it turns out I am the deciding vote on the finals between Charleston, SC vs Austin, TX.

I really can't make up my mind on this one. What would you choose? This is a group of 6 guys all in their mid 30s.

I am a native of SC and even I think Charleston is overrated. Sure, a few blocks of historic homes, Southern food, the beach...surrounded by slums, sprawl, and traffic. I have yet to hear one bad thing about Austin.

Great city, great food great music.

Knowing its a guys trip, the women in Austin are so nice and friendly. It should be a touch warmer than Charleston as well.

Nothing against Charleston, by the way, that's another great city. But I would personally rather do a guys trip in Austin

While Charleston may have some fun things, Austin is perfect for this type of trip. I've been a few times for similar trips and bach parties and every year I would do it again. BBQ, good bar scenes, top golf etc.........Dirty 6th is fun on it own along with Rainey St etc. Do the right thing.

bachelor party in Charleston this November. We are all in our mid-late 20's and there's definitely a bunch of stuff to do. We're going deep-sea fishing, golfing and of course hitting the bars.

Just don't troll the college kids on 6th street, Around 7th and Congress and 5th and Congress are a few bars that cater to the over 30 crowd

You didn't say what time of year though. Summer and beaching is a good thing there.

That said 6th street in Austin is pretty damn fun.

Admittedly I felt like it was a weak field this year. As I mentioned, we vote on the cities tournament style, so it can get unpredictable.

Sometimes the finals end up underwhelming, but for a bunch guys with young families who live all over the country... it’s the easiest way to do it.

bachelor parties. both were great, but austin had more to do. austin had better bbq; charleston had better upscale seafood. took boat trips on both trips - lake austin was a really fun experience.

whichever you chose, it's the company that makes the trip.
