My guess is that the giants are most likely to take Okudah. Everyone seems to think that he has the gold jacket potential that DG looks for in a #1 pick. mock draft tracker - ( New Window )
the Goods...from an overall team perspective the defense needs a lot of work. But the “franchise” depends on Jones staying upright. If they think Thomas-Wills-Wirfs can be a 8 year LT, then that pick is a no brainer.
An argument can also be made for lockdown CB, as we really don’t know what we have in Baker or Beal just yet. Baker looked like he was really improving down the stretch, and with good coaching he could really make the jump. Beal seems like the type of player who can be a contributor on a solid team, but just not sure what his upside is.
If you inset Okudah into this CB group, you can argue our secondary is a strength where it was probably the worst unit on the field in recent years.
We need a 1A CB. I personally think Baker and Ballantine will be good players but not great. Beal can't stay on the field and I doubt he ever will. The rest of the usual suspects are garbage including Haley and Hamilton.
Same could be said for Derrick Brown DT our of Auburn.
The Leonard Williams situation could effect whether or not Brown is a viable option. He is a great player and top talent. The draft is about top talent, then positional need.
If Williams is signed then we go in another direction.
Last year and people want to take another Eli Apple at 4 mind boggling when the oline still sucks and we have no pass rushers
I would be quite surprised if we didnt get a vet CB to replace Janoris in FA . We are awfully, awfully Young in the back 7-8 with Ogletree likely going too.
Something tells me new brass won’t love the idea of Becton. I think there’s a substantial amount of risk with that pick (higher than others)

I’d be happy with Wills, Okudah, Simmons, and evening Whirfs/ Becton.
Point is ... this draft seems deep in blue chip players, that envelop could include Wills.
