"mecca of basketball," "iconic franchise," "greatest city in the world" nonsense I'm gonna strangle someone. Hopefully he has a sensible plan to build an NBA roster.
and doesn't even have a damn shooting coach. Though no shooting coach is better than Keith Smart, so there was an in-season upgrade.

Marc Berman @NYPost_Berman
With Keith Smart getting the boot with Fizdale, the Knicks don't have a real shooting coach. RJ Barrett said he spoke in recent days with Allan Houston about shooting.
Why hasn't anyone tried to change him back to righty?
He's ambidextrous and always shot from his left. Can you imagine the criticism the Knicks would have gotten if they drafted him and immediately forced him to change the hand he shoots from?

True - but some of his shots legit look like someone who is right-handed and shooting lefty. Looks uncomfortable.
either he needs to learn how to play off the ball, or he needs to play point guard..
If by saying he needs to learn how to play off the ball, you actually mean that he needs to somehow get a bunch of selfish players to actually give up the ball to him, then yes, I agree

no i mean if you want a point guard to run an offense, he has to learn to either shoot or move without the ball..
People hate payton, but it is going to be the same thing with any ppint guard..
Brandon ingram struggled playing next to lebron james and he is the best distributor in the nba..
If you need the ball in your hands to be effective you better be a point guard
Agreed. We're kidding ourselves if we think any of these guys can start on a playoff team down the road. Outside chance RJ could, because he'll work his ass off. Everyone else is a liability. Marcus Morris was the only starting caliber player on this year's roster.
I dont know who the star is yet, but he is going to trade for one..
Yeah? With what? No one is giving up a star for Knicks castoffs.
Knicks have a ton of draft capitol and teams blowing up their team will trade for draft picks..
they also have cap space, which allows them to also take on a bad contract, which also helps the other team blowing up their team..
As much as we all hate knox and frank, teams will still take a risk on them, not as the main piece of a trade by any means, but they have value as low risk high reward assets...
I'm more concerned with sensible roster construction
than I am with big names, though I'd happily take both. Randle and Robinson don't fit together, Randle and RJ don't fit together, Randle and everyone don't fit together, RJ and LaMelo Ball (hypothetically) don't fit well together. Will Leon Rose be smart enough to understand that and make changes, even if it means trading guys like Mitch and RJ? If not, we'll keep languishing.

add fricken shooters, you have no chance in the nba playing in the paint with no shooters
Yeah, I'm all for adding as many shooters as possible.
It's a weak free agent class, but it has plenty of shooting - Gallo/Harris/Morris/Bertans/etc. - I'm very much in favor of giving one of those guys a multi-year deal, though none are "stars." We're one of the few teams with a lot of space this summer - might as well take advantage.
The Clippers pick may be a good spot to add a shooter, too - even if a slight trade-up is required.
Guys like Hield and Markkanen may be available via trade - that should also be explored, even if Mitch or RJ have to be sacrificed.
I'm fine with drafting a PG in the top 10 and surrounding him with 3-4 three-point shooters. Play D'Antoni ball for all I care. Just make some shots.
Mitch still has strong skills. A rim running 5 who can block shots and is efficient without getting a lot of touches.
You don't have to throw out every player with frustrating tendencies. Coach him up, and get a bunch of ball dominate people who aren't afraid of shooting.
Probably about a month ago. Can't say I miss it. The team is horrible to watch and its not like they are trotting out all young guys who are experiencing growing pains. They are just simply a bad team.
I really hope Rose can turn it around. I have my doubts though and its a serious tall task. I just wish they could get back to being relevant and in the playoff hunt.
Going into this season the main things I wanted to see were-
1) Growth from DSJ/ Knox/ Frank where they became effective starters. If anything these guys have regressed.
2) Star flashes from Barrett. He's had some good games but he's really struggled at times and gives you plenty of worry.
3) Robinson taking the next step and becoming full time starter. Unfortunately this hasn't happened either although I'm still very high on him.
4) Smart trades/ pickups to add picks and assets. The Morris trade was solid but not exactly a grand slam. No other moves on this front or "finds" from young guys.
This season couldn't have gone much worse for the Knicks...

Yeah, same here as to stopping watching about a month ago. I'm the biggest sucker for the Knicks that there is (been following them since the Howard Komives days, when they were also pretty bad), but it's just not enjoyable to watch such a bad team.
Most nights I check in at tip-off to see what suit Clyde is wearing.
Knicks social media has even ruined that suspense by posting pictures/video of him ahead of time. Otherwise I check in for a couple of minutes in the first half, and a couple of minutes in the second half. This isn't the worst position the Knicks have been in over the past 20 years, but it feels like fans as more miserable than ever. Cumulative effect I guess.
now, the Rangers, ironically, are a completely different story -
they are a team on the rise and extremely fun to watch this year. Even when they were losing earlier in the year, they were at least enjoyable, and now they're winning...
for the 20-21 season. If true, I would rank hiring Rose right up there with the lunacy of hiring Isaiah Thomas and Phil Jackson. Put the ball in Anthony's hands and the offense comes to a screeching halt while he fights to get off his jump shot, even if it means hearing the buzzer. If the goal is to coach young players to share the ball and hit the open man, there is no way Carmelo Anthony should be within 1000 miles of this roster.

Agreed.
and fans wonder why stars dont want to come to the knicks
Has the Blazers played better after adding Melo? I am not a Melo basher and always complained that he didn't get the calls he deserved as a star while with the Knicks. However, adding Melo to whatever iteration of Knicks next year makes zero sense. Probably nothing to get worked up about though.
But seriously he cant be right handed.

he said he is right handed and has better form, but more comfortable with his left

Needs to play a complete game
That is, damn autocorrect
But for stupid turnovers and stupid fouls, they'd have won.
But that's this team.
Miller said Perry and him set the rotation for each game, are you kidding me?
You are joking me right?
That is,someone who can't yo-yo
and what miller said about him last night was wrong
he is taking a pay cut, anything he makes he is not making nearly the same he did as an agent

2017 draft (Ntilikina): Lauri Markkanen
2014 draft (C. Early): Joe Harris
2011 (Iman Shumpert): Nikola Vucevic
2009 (Jordan Hill): Steph Curry

But why is Mitch not starting? why is ellington getting minutes over trier?
Knicks do not have any young superstars by any means but at this point just play the kids..
A ton of cap flexibility and a lot of draft capitol, yet it feels like everything is miserable right now..
Agreed.
Melo is not signing here unless the knicks add a star player, he is not coming here if it is just kids..
People call melo selfish when he was on the knicks, what player did the knicks have equal or better than him?

Exactly. The guy hasn’t even been officially announced yet and he’s already being called Isaiah and Phil by the mouth breathers. Unbelievable.
Example #1000000000 why NY sports fans absolutely suck
