Franchise/Transition Tag Update

League source says of 2020 offseason rules: “Teams will operate under the current agreement until the new one is ratified.” Meaning, for now, you can use franchise tag and transition tag.

That's a big change from the prior assemblage, which seemed to be much more dominated by Gettleman. It's apparently a new dynamic at the top.

I dont think there is any way we tag LW. New England rarely paid top $$ for a player unless he was the best of the best. I like LW but he has not proven to be a guy you cant live without. DG may feel the need to tag but I would let it play out and see what the market is if I am Judge, we could be over bidding by a lot.

Based on the tags I think you can get a long term deal done in the $13-14 mil range. If he wants more than that I would let him walk and look for some depth later in FA for a cheaper option. We have Lawrence and Tomlinson to play DT. We can overspend on a DE who finishes and LBs who can cover.
