That would be a pretty tough match up for our TBD OTs twice a year for the next few years on top of the edge rushers that Dallas already has. Link - ( New Window )
PLEASE TELL ME where the fuck our big money is going to? how can they afford 33 mill to a QB plus coopers contract, zekes contract, lawerence and oh their awesome OL who at least 3 are paid well....
who do we spend our money on? It feels like we dont spend a fraction of what they have on their books
Reese and Gettlemen spent hundreds of millions of dollars on free agents. Bad ones. Pay attention.

Nate Solder, the lack of money being rolled over from 2019 from bad contracts like Eli, Ogletree, and Jenkins. Imagine if we had that extra 30m in our cap right now.

The difference is the Cowboys have been penny pinching since Dak and Zeke’s rookie year, everyone they’ve paid for outperformed or lived up to their contract. In contrast, almost everyone we’ve paid for has underperformed. The money adds up.
But for two decades, we've been up against the camp because the Giants ALWAYS are spending top dollar on free agents. They just aren't very good at it.
They just gave a crap load of money to Leonard Williams, James Bradberry, Blake Martinez, and probably Levine Tololio.
Could be smart moves. Could be terrible moves again.
guys do realize that the Cowboys have been better than us because they have drafted better than us. Right?
Nothing but facts.
They used to draft pretty poorly, then they stop letting Jerry make all the picks and it’s crazy how they can get 6th round safeties and 3rd rd corners to start all year without busting coverages.
We’ve gotten significantly better at drafting since DG came on board though. Some people might dispute that, I guess
that being said, they can still afford these mega contracts and we havent given out one in years.
solder is wildly overpaid but outside of him, who else is ? everyone else seems to be getting paid fairly and i get we have a ton of room, but it always seems like they are able to take on huge contracts

“Well, considering they'll also roll over approximately $11.7 million in savings from 2018 -- according to the NFLPA -- it means they're projected available cap will have a floor of just under $47.4 million, and a ceiling of just over $51 million. Their rollover is the highest of any NFC East team and the second-most in the conference, behind only the San Francisco 49ers, who enjoy a boulderesque $35 million”
and the UFA market has not been presented the opportunities either.
You don't give A money to B talent. Giants are playing this correctly. They must draft better and get a foundation in place before going for broke via UFA.
They really are lmao, they’re whole defensive backfield doesn’t have 1 first rounder now that Byron Jones is gone, their whole defense is on economical contracts but Lawrence and Jaylon Smith.
Now that Marinelli is gone though, I don’t see how they sustain their success, we’ll have to see

yea, their secondary is pretty weak, i agree. but otherwise they seemed posied to really make a run if they land clowney
They have the best LT in nfl and only pay him 13mill, we have a shit LT getting 20mill
Overthecap has Amari Cooper making 12mill but that should be actually 20mill, im guessing its being backloaded
Ezekiel Elliott and OT La'El Collins also restructured their contracts to save more cap space apparantly
That's because they signed Smith to his current deal in 2014. That's 4 years of "cap inflation" before Solder signed his. And he arguably took a slightly below market value deal at the time since Dallas was willing to give him 8 years, which is unheard of in the NFL.
Down on the farm. I want to believe in DG, I really do, but "white man speak with fork tongue"
He's said many times that he wants to fill key positions with top quality vets and fill in with top quality draft picks. Now with a pile of money, he kinda-sorta.
I knew something was about to happen:
Collins restructuring
Zeke restructuring
Let Jones walk
Let Quinn walk
Great first year contract with Their WR
Not unloading the bank for Dak (30 is what I’m reading)
All for a huge signing com8ng up.....Clowney! Now it all makes sense.
I’m reading so many people drooling over Clowney, but I dont get it. He has had 32 sacks in 4 full years. He has never had double digit sacks, with 9.5 being the most. And he only had 3 sacks last year. Oh, and he also had the great JJ Watt lining up with him that teams had to worry about. Don’t you think Watt made Clowney even better?
So why is he THAT special, especially seeing how much he wants?
Why is he worth 20 Million per year?
Why is he so much better than Golden, who had 10 sacks compared to Clowney 3 sacks?
It will probably happen and then you can put two L's in the column now because who on this team is able to block him or DLaw? The two of them would be insane.
32 sacks in 4 years doesn’t sound insane to me. Are you Clowney agent, dad, or wife? He only had 3 sacks last year. How many did GOLDEN have? And you fear Clowney?
Just go watch film man, he is literally swimming directly past Tackles before they even get a chance to punch him. In the games I’ve watched he’s been double and triple teamed and still gets the qb off the platform consistently. The only thing holding him back is his pass rush repertoire and his ability to bend.
Not finishing the sack is a function of the qb being able to complete quick passes and or bailing from the pocket. Go watch him against the Ravens and tell me Lamar Jackson wasn’t extremely frustrated avoiding his pressure.
If after actually watching the film, you don’t think he’s worth top money, then maybe you weren’t observing how stale Von Miller and Khalil Mack looked last season. Those two have a more complete game, but the athleticism traits are similar. Stats don’t tell the whole story.
goes to Dallas, he will be kicking our ass for years to come. Say what you want about Dallas but they know how to work the cap and they know how to fucking draft.

Are you really measuring a players ability by just sacks alone? Golden could not sniff Clowney's jockstrap.

Agree. Clowney is a disruptor. Good against the run, great inside move, sideline to sideline speed. My concerns and everyone elses might be his injury history and consistent level of effort. For the money he will be paid, these are legitimate concerns. I would be happy to sign him though, mainly because he will make others around him better, kinda like Williams. I would be interested what they could do on the same line.
Didn't they basically re-up everyone on the offensive line?
They just let Jones, arguably their best defender, walk in FA.
And they haven't really signed a significant FA from another team in several years.
Prescott’s salary just went from literally almost nothing to 35 million. DeMarcus Lawre de and Zeke got paid last year. Cooper this year. This is bullshit. Period.
I’m reading so many people drooling over Clowney, but I dont get it. He has had 32 sacks in 4 full years. He has never had double digit sacks, with 9.5 being the most. Think how Clowney doesn't make sense. If Dallas wanted this they would have resigned Quinn to a much cheaper contract. This is Thomas speculating.
What Jadeveon Clowney supposedly wants, the Dallas Cowboys aren’t willing to provide.
The three-time Pro Bowl defensive end, the best edge rusher on the open market, is seeking “something in the $20-million-a-year range,” according to ESPN’s Dan Graziano, as the second wave of free agency begins.
Clowney is asking fir the moon so whoever signs him will be most likely over-paying.
Probably, but the interesting thing is our fans do not want the Giants to overpay for anyone, but we will be pissed off if he ends up playing for a division rival.
goes to Dallas, he will be kicking our ass for years to come. Say what you want about Dallas but they know how to work the cap and they know how to fucking draft.
I just watched the Disaster Artist and I was like, where do I know that name, Tommy Wiseau. Good handle. Ha!

Washington beats are saying the redskins were going to reset the market with Cooper’s deal, the market dictates that that’s a discount.

Draft picks are cheap. When you draft well, it affects the cap in VERY positive way.
Look at what Dallas was paying their QB the last few years alone.
