His game against GB in sub-0 temperature was legendary

I have no ill will at all, thank you Plax!

He overcame a lot. It’s great to hear him reflect, he sounds so much more mature and assured now. He used to be very uncomfortable with media and talking on camera. Like very shy, or socially anxious. People give him all this grief over ‘08, but first remember a teammate had been robbed before. He was from a background where you protect yourself (and he admits in this it was stupid and selfish, but i don’t think malicious). He didn’t kill anyone, he had a stupid accident. Also, the fact that we couldn’t win without him shows his import to the team.

But man, that ‘07 season ...he played hurt all year, could barely practice, and he just schools Harris in GB, just dominates him. And he’s abuses the corner for the GW in the SB on a damaged MCL. He was awesome.

One of my favorite Plax memories as a MSU guy was Plax as a blocker. Michigan has a talented WR Terrell, they’d sometimes use as a DB. Late in the game they bring him in for the first time to match up with Plax. All eyes on them. I think Saban was the coach. They call a run and Plax puts the guy on his keester. Then dives on him. It was great.

Harris was a 2x Pro Bowl player and Plax made him look like a college back-up

Yep, IIRC it was Steve Smith who was rubbed at gunpoint while taking a car service that same year.

Then again, Plax failed gun safety 101

Rightly famous for the last minute goal line stand, but Burress was also very big in that second half.

Deciding score was a 5 yard pass that he turned into 35 yard TD.

Could use some of that on the current edition Giants.

Thanks for posting the interview.

I don’t know, tucking a loaded hair trigger gun into the waist and of your sweats seems like it’s a best practice in all the movies I watch...

You may be right that it was Smith, I think they took diamond earrings or something. But, he was a rookie I think and should have learned from Tommer to have no jewls just regular.
If only he could put his 40-year-old head

in his 30-year-old body... He had it all: hands, moves, instincts, football IQ, effort, and competitive fire.

Thanx for the memories, Plax. You'll always be a giant Giant.

I always had like a fan grudge ( if there is such a thing) for 08. That team was rolling. Its refreshingly honesty to hear him acknowledge that he let more than just himself down. Guy was legendary in Green Bay, and Manning to Burress will be etched into my memory forever.

Jeez to bad forgiving people in real life isnt this easy...

I want to talk to you about the Sport Tuck belly band holster.

Came here and was as advertised. Just a true beast of WR. Still unsure of the best WR I’ve seen in a giants uniform. It’s between these guys in my opinion. Watching since 1997

Plax
Nicks
Beckham

of the Alien Gear holster with a Sig Sauer P320 Compact. Got a couple of them myself. Definitely not a belly carry holster, but good effort.

Wow, I never considered Plax cost “Eli” another Super Bowl, the Giants yes; I believe they were the best team in football that season.

Don’t know that all the time I ve been a Giants fan, since 56, another player who had fans that might have actually been a bigger fan of his than the team; there was more than a little of that here.

Not criticizing, as always to each there own, it it does explain at least in part why it was so difficult to discuss the Eli situation of the past three seasons here.

For what it s worth, I think Eli gets in the Hall without the third championship. Maybe not on first ballot, but he ll get in based on his performance in 07 and 11, when he was as good as anyone ever was in post season.

If you can find another holster picture with the user wearing sweatpants, pass it along. This is the only one I could find.
Thank you for sharing

That Super Bowl run was one of my fondest memories as a sports fan. His NFCC game against Al Harris was as dominant an offensive performance as I can remember from a NYG receiver. It is easy to minimize his career as a Giant based on his bone-headed decision the following year. In reality, we do not make the '07 run without Plaxico and that trumps everything else in my mind.

Dayum. I must have looked at 200 pictures, easy. Couldn't find one with sweatpants except for the one I posted.

season. He played all season on a bad ankle, and played in the SB on a bad ankle and knee. People can take all the shots they want, but he was a great hero for the Giants. Don't forget that about him and don't minimize it.

I will go to my grave thinking that we @ least get back to the Super Bowl in '08 if he doesn't shoot himself. The late Jim Johnson said we were a completely different offense to game plan when he was out. And yeah, I know we were dropping like flies on the DL, but I really believe we beat the Eagles & Cards in the playoffs if we had Plax.

Yes , but also a major reason we didn't get a chance to repeat. Team was 10-1 before that incident. Things spiraled quickly downhill after that, culminating with a 1st round loss to Eagles that year
