The Giants trade their #4 pick to the Raiders for their #12 pick (Jedrick Wills) and their #19 pick (K’Lavon Chaisson (DE/OLB, LSU). Link - ( New Window )
Maybe Mayock changes thing but Gruden sucks with rookie QBs if that is what he is trading up for. He has always done better with vets he can rely upon. They also just signed Mariota. Yes, Mariota is not going to stop them from drafting a QB but how does a rookie QB fit with Carr and Mariota? They'd have to move one of them and right now there is probably no market for either in terms of getting back anything substantial.
However, I can't see Oakland trading up for a QB with the Mariota signing. Oakland would be smart to stand pat at 12 and take the best WR available.
The most plausible trade-down scenario to me is moving to 6 and grabbing an extra second-rounder from the Chargers. And then the Giants pick their best OT at 6 and double dip on defense in the beginning of the 2nd round.

Trade Carr to the Pats?
Possibly but NE is always frugal with their contracts. How does Carr's contract look after a trade?
Could be there at 11, but one of the top guys will be, this is the kind of move we all would love to see, but the leopard never changes its spots, and I can already hear the this player was the one we couldn't move off our spot for. Don't count on him trading back. When you never did it and you are as paranoid as him, its not happening. He has had plenty of opportunity I am sure, he just has a stron conviction about his board, and an owner who wants to know what player you are getting if you trade back. So the chances are slim to none.
Burrows at 1 to the Bengals
Young at 2 to the Skins
then
Tua to either Miami or Jax (or Detroit)
Herbert to the loser of the Tua sweepstakes
Love to the LAC at 6
The Giants play is determined by what Detroit does.
But I think the Raiders are content with their QB’s. They will likely evaluate Mariota and hope that he has a Tannehill type of rebirth this season. If not they will likely focus on the top QB’s next year.
Remember that Mike Mayock had Mariota as his top QB prospect in that years draft. I would love to see them trade up with us but I don’t see it happening. I don’t think that Gettleman will trade down that far. Also they would need to include another pick more likely a 2nd or 3rd in 2021.

Listen to what DG said at the combine PC. He specifically sited if we trade down too far to 8 (which happens to be right after the 3 QB needy teams) we may not get the top tier guys we want.
don't see the Giants trading down that far, and even if they did, would want at least another third to do so. I also don't see Wills lasting to #12. A small trade down is probably all we can expect. We'd be very lucky to get a #2 from San Diego.
I'm hoping we come out with at least 1 of Simmons or Wills. Trading

Mariota couldn't make it work with Super Bowl talent around him. He is a change up QB. A guy who comes in and adds a dimension at QB. Maybe wins a game for you. If they don't believe in in Carr....
Agreed, but there should still be a good OT prospect there at #12 who you could start at RT.

I've said all along Jax at #9 is as far back as I'd go. I've also felt all along the most likely spots for us are #6 and #9.

I agree ... the top 9 include 4 QBs, Simmons, Okudah, Brown and 2 of the tackles ... then somebody is going to get a vg WR at 10.

Agreed.

We got the last OT. What are the odds we really like all four? Or the one we don't like would be the last one available. Too risky.

I think I would still do it though. Add in their 3rd to make up for chucklehead's LW deal.
As Miami and Chargers must think we are willing to do so......

Very unlikely we are trading down to 12
Think you just answered the question of whether this will happen. Pipe dream!
He is really good. You have to watch the type of twitch and speed he plays with. Plus he is physical.
Chaisson will be a great pro. You have to get past the lack of sacks, he is a complete OLB
