my 7 round mock draft

CMicks3110 : 3/22/2020 10:17 am
this includes several trades.

Trade returns were based on similar type of trades at similar spots in the draft. I know it's a lot, but would be interested in thoughts.

Trade #2 -- 1st (20th Overall) , 5th Round Pick (150) to Seattle for 1st (27th), 2nd (64th Overall), 2021 6th Round Pick
2nd (36th), (97th) for 32nd Overall

Trade # 4 -- 4th (110) to TB for 4th (117) and 5th Round Pick (163)

Drat
1-Mekhi Becton, OT, Louisville
1-Zack Baun, LB, Wisconsin
2-Isaiah Wilson, OT, Georgia
2-Ashtyn Davis, S, California
3-Marlon Davidson, DL, Auburn
4-Donovan Peoples-Jones, WR, Michigan
5-Logan Wilson, LB, Wyoming
6-Cohl Cabral, C, Arizona State
7-Darrynton Evans, RB, Appalachian State

Best I’ve seen
While the trades would be amazing
robbieballs2003 : 3/22/2020 10:26 am : link
There is no way the Jags are giving up their first 4 picks. I just don't see that.
Can’t comment on your picks
joeinpa : 3/22/2020 10:27 am : link
Because I don’t have the familiarity with the players entering the draft with the exception of the top kids everyone knows something about, that you obviously have

My question would be: What is the likelihood that a team, and especially this GM , who has a history of rarely or never dealing down, would do so several times.

If you re just sharing what you would do as GM, very well done, I m impressed with your knowledge and creativity.

But if you re presenting a scenario that actually might happen, I think, not happening.
Great Job

May have picked a center earlier, we need a starter, but if we ever did this, I would be thrilled.
you have a lot of trades down for a guy who doesn't trade down
JohnB : 3/22/2020 10:30 am : link
I can see one trade downward with the #4 pick but not all of them.
would love to see this approach but
Del Shofner : 3/22/2020 10:30 am : link
that there's a lot of moving parts.
Looks good CMick

I dont think Wilson lasts til late 3. I think he is gone by the middle of the 2nd.
I think
YANKEE28 : 3/22/2020 10:58 am : link
that if the Giants and Jags have a first round trade, it is more likely to involve the Giants getting # 9 and # 20, but also needing to swap and give the Jags #36 and we get the Jags # 42.

I really like this draft!!
The Jags, if they really love Herbert or Tua,
CMicks3110 : 3/22/2020 11:03 am : link
have to jump past the chargers, dolphins, panthers, that's why the price is high and why I am banking on a somewhat lopsided trade. Remember, there have been similar lopsided trades. Colts got a 1st and 3 2nd round picks from Jets for move from 3 to 6. Redskins gave up a haul for RG3, same with Eagles for Wentz. Not saying this is going to happen, but it's not out of the realm of possibility.

It kind of is out of the realm of possibility because they would just make that offer to Detroit. Jax has a ton of needs. They cannot afford to just give up basically all their picks. The Jets did what they did because no other team was moving down and they were also very secretive about it. They wanted to get a deal done immediately before other teams found out so they gave up a ton but at the same time they gave up two second round picks in the same year. The 3rd second round pick was the following year. You have Jax giving up their top 4 picks in 1 year. Don't see that happening at all.
I like the draft, however,
Simms11 : 3/22/2020 11:12 am : link
I do not see us drafting a Center in the 6th round considering our current situation there. Best bet would be 2nd or 3rd rounds IMO.

Yes, they have to get a tackle and a center in the first two rounds. FA has left them no choice.
I’m not sure what it is
ryanmkeane : 3/22/2020 11:36 am : link
but Becton would be the only OL I’d be disappointed with

There are a lot of scouts out there that think that he may have the highest ceiling, given his athleticism and size. What we might be seeing right now is his floor. If Colombo and Judge can tap his talent, this would be in all pro Thai tackle for the next seven years. This all depends if they want to take the chance. As of right now, I am for any of these guys being the first pick for the Giants, preferably with a trade down.
no way
uther99 : 3/22/2020 11:56 am : link
Jags that much up. Jags two first for the Giants 4th is a good deal for both.
Only personal
XBRONX : 3/22/2020 12:02 pm : link
but can't stand mocks with fictional trades.
....

Are there any 2nd or 3rd round EDGE prospects that would be a good fit?

Any start with Simmons as the 1st pick is the smartest start we can have. Gettleman and Judge will find their value in rounds 2-7. We cannot fix this team with this draft so we need the best possible player to build around.
The whole thing is ridiculous

You never know with trades...

I like the talent. Minor is that I think you overdrafted Baun a bit.

But there is only one real flaw. With all those resources you have to get an OC in the premium rounds. Insane not too. We don't have a starter at the position and what's left on the market isn't impressive at all.

Sorry but Cabral in Round 6 ain't cutting it.

Nice job. Reflects the Patriots philosophy of leveraging your picks to fix your roster.
The picks don't add
Bruner4329 : 3/22/2020 4:35 pm : link
If we started with 3 7th round picks and trade one of them how do we end up with 4 7th round picks?
What OTs were available when you picked?
Jay in Toronto : 3/22/2020 7:06 pm : link
If Thomas was -- I'd have picked him. Not as a high a ceiling, but a much safer pick IMO

We don't need a superstar -- just an above average LT, which I believe is true of Thomas.
