Pretty much everybody is thinking Burrow to Cincinnati, Young to the Skins then the Lions ...
Just looking around to see what some folks think: S.I., CBS Sports, Walter football, ESPN, Bleacher Report, all go Okudah. Fox Sports - Simmons.
Only way I think they trade down is if Tua is given total 100% medical clearance. Otherwise, we'll be sitting with a Golden Football trade-down opportunity with three aces in our hand - Okudah, Simmons, Tua.
The Giants can use the Chargers and Jacksonville against each other ....
If Tua was 100%, he might have gone before Burrow, that's how good he is. If he shows he's good, the "football needy' will give the Lions their right testicle for him ...
Which will reduce the Giants' ultimate trading power down a notch.
I think Jacksonville is not a king a QB. They seem like they want o see what they have in Minshew and are content to tank the season. They may take one if a QB slides to them, but i don’t see a big trade up.
The Giants could go a number of ways. Simmons vs O-Iineman seems like the big debate. People talk about how Gettleman loves his big trench players, but he also inherited a team in Carolina with Luke Keuchly (maybe the best in the game) and then drafted Shaq Thompson with a 1st round pick (who was a converted safety to LB). So, i think it is tough to say.
QBs 1, 2, 3? I don't think that happens. Chase Young isn't slipping out of the top 3.

NYG drafted:
Baker end of round 1
Love round 4
Ballentine round 6
Quote:
To go to 5. If they want okudah which most people think is a real possibility then he should be there. The Giants are unlikely taking him. Not impossible, but unlikely. Last year alone a 1st, 3rd, and 4th were used on corner...and then our highest price free agent signing was another corner.

Beal was the supplemental 3rd rounder in 2018
Don't see that likely given Rivera is a defensive-minded head coach. He knows the value a stud DE like Young brings to a defense.
2. Young to Redskins
3. Tua to Miami
4. Simmons or OT to Giants
5. Okudah to Lions
6. Herbert to Chargers
7. Derrick Brown to Panthers
8. OT to Cardinals
If the Giants trade down it will be with Jags or Raiders unless Detroit just takes one of Okudah or Simmons, then a possibility of Miami being a trade partner because we will have a bunch of teams fighting for Tua.

Makes sense to me.
Agreed. They give us their 2nd.

But they used their 3rd in the supplemental draft which was taken out of the 2019 draft picks.
The Chargers could trade up with NYG for Herbert but in the scenario I feel is going to happen, it wouldn’t be necessary. Unless Detroit trades back again with a QB hungry team. Maybe the Jags would trade up and Detroit would then get picks 9 and 20 but that seems steep.
I think my scenario makes very good sense.
Miami gets Detroit’s pick and takes Tua ...
That leaves the Chargers and Jax wanting Herbert.
The Chargers don’t have enough to offer to move up but Jax does
Jax takes Herbert at 4
Detroit takes Okudah (or Brown) at 5
LAC gets Love at 6
Panthers take Simmons at 7
Cardinals go Okudah or Brown at 8
Giants get whoever they rate as the #1 OT at 9 then Baun or a center at 20.

Nice. But I'd hope for Gross-Matos at #20 and then a center at #36
I question whether McKinney is athletic enough to be a FS in the NFL. If he was not shorter than ideal heightwise, I think Antoine Winfield Jr. could actually be the best FS in this draft. Personally I think the Giants should put out smoke that they don't believe any OL are worth the #4 overall pick and really like the defensive talent available this year. Really need to make Detroit feel like if they trade to 5 then the Giants will take who they want at 4.
