What wide receiver in this draft

DonnieD89 : 3/22/2020 5:49 pm
could we get realistically in the 3rd or 4th round without picking up an extra pick in a trade down? I would love to get a Michael Pittman, Jr or Chase Claypool, but I think they will be gone before pick #99.
Pittman no....Clayman maybe

The Liberty Kid likely

3rd round pick. So much wr talent.
This is a great draft for WR

So I'm sure we'll end up with a couple of new guys and probably get a real good one in round 4-5. And I'm with you, I'd absolutely love to snag Chase Claypool. he's going to be a stud in the NFL
I get the feeling that Chase Claypool

might be what we thought Evan Engram would be. Except at much better value than being taken in the first round.

the Giants want Claypool, they'll likely have to take him at #36. I wouldn't be surprised if they did.

wait till Day 3

I'd love to get Cephus.
There’s a GIF out there of Claypool

Absolutely trucking a guy on a run block. Like, totally embarrassing the guy.

When I saw that all I could think is Barkley running over right end and all the defenders on the ground.

Oh, and at that size and speed, he makes a nice deep threat too...

Terrific pick on 3rd day. Watched him a lot this past year. Good hands and body control with the burst to separate from his defender. I really like him a lot for the Giants.
Pittman

Is a better football player then Claypool. Anyone who has seen both play should attest to this. Claypool is just faster, Pittman does everything else better.

Not everything. Claypool excelled on special teams as a gunner.

True, Claypool does add to special teams. Good point but I'd still take Pittman who has better ball skills, hands, and ran a better route tree at USC.
I'm no draft expert, but all I want in a WR is
CT Charlie : 3/22/2020 9:11 pm : link
great hands. After that? A team-first attitude, football IQ, and good route running. He needs to be in the right place at the right time and CATCH the ball. Speed and most of the other measurables are vastly over-rated.

I think his teammate Devin Duvernay will end up being a big time steal in this draft.

Johnson, maybe there was sone injury history there, but I don’t think he shined like he could have. Against LSU, he was invisible, while Duvernay tore them up.

Just something to think about.
The wideouts I would target at various stages of this Draft are:
Torrag : 3/22/2020 9:17 pm : link
I focused on guys with above average size/length. It's a need in our receiving corps.

1st round: Denzel Mims:If we trade down and get a pick in the 20's. What elite trait doesn't he have?

2nd/3rd Round: Peoples Jones. Slightly under the radar coming out of that Harbaugh offense and with meh QB play while there. He's my pick to be this years version of D.K. Metcalf.

3rd/4th: Collin Johnson. Long vertical player that is more than just straight line speed. Flypaper hands.

5th: Trishton Jackson. Similar to Slayton last year. Good after the catch.

6th- Isaiah Coulter- Toolsy small school prospect with decent size.

68 would have been a sweet spot for a WR
Ned In Atlanta : 3/22/2020 9:21 pm : link
Thankfully DG sent that pick plus a 5th next year for the right to bid against no one and pay Leonard Williams nearly 17 million lol

dude...all off-season you and I are on the exact same page for prospects...I was going to say Davis in the 5th too!! HAHA, great minds think alike!
In the third or fourth
Anakim : 3/22/2020 10:57 pm : link
Michael Pittman Jr.

Chase Claypool

Kendrick Rogers

Maybe Antonio Gandy-Golden. I want to like Collin Johnson, but he's so inconsistent and too banged up for my taste.

I hope the Giants draft two WR’s. If Antonio Gandy Golden is still on the board in round 3 or 4 he would be a great choice there. I like Isaiah Coulter also. He’s worth rolling the dice especially in round 7 where the Giants have 4 picks.

I like Edwards also. He’s a tough big body receiver who’s game is different than every other receiver on the roster already. He played in a major conference, He’s a willing blocker and just gives the offense that size dimension at receiver it lacks.

Hey, you can never have too many unexceptional, overpriced Defensive Tackles.

Same here, curious as to why he isn't in the late lst/early 2nd round talk?
I think WR has to be a higher priority than #99.
Section331 : 3/23/2020 9:22 am : link
This is one of the reasons I hope for a trade down, grab an extra 2nd round pick to grab a good WR prospect.
