We will use this as a discussion thread to keep the picks thread uncluttered. These threads will be used for the duration of the draft.
Once a team is on the clock, they will have two hours to make a selection. If a team goes on the clock after 4pm, their two-hour window will roll over to the next day. For example, if you go on the clock at 4:30pm, you will have until 9:30 am to make a selection. Picks may be made between 6pm and 9am if GMs are online and following the draft thread. The time limit only applies during the 9am to 6pm timeframe. If the two hour time limit expires, I will make a pick using any list that the GM for the team has sent me in advance (send lists to the email address in my profile) or in the absence of a list, I will use the GBN Big Board with a little discretion so as not make an obvious dumb pick (i.e. Kansas City won’t be taking a QB in the 1st round this year). If a GM misses two consecutive picks without providing a prospect list or making some form of contact with me (email or posting on the draft thread) the spot will be reassigned to one of the BBIers who have expressed an interest to fill the vacancy.
Please utilize the
BBI Mock Draft Spreadsheet . The spreadsheet contains the draft order (RD1-6) by team and GM with a fairly comprehensive list of prospects based on the GBN Big Board (as well as several other prospects that did not make the GBN Big Board). I will try to keep the spreadsheet and thread updated as often as possible… Good luck!
Otherwise good pick Matt.
Matt, good idea to get this started now. You are right. With no sports, we need something for a good distraction. Looking forward to all discussions and background info on the prospects. This is always a lot of fun.
Nice pick, Matt. Obvious pick, too. IMHO
This year the NFL Draft starts a bit on the early side (4/23) so I was planning to "start the clock" on 3/30 and post the thread by middle of this week.
I will fully admit I pulled the trigger a few days early than originally planned... I'm on Day 15 of quarantine :)
jackasses
Hope you and yours are good.
Oh, the Disney trip is toast. So, I will not be missing any time during the draft. Thanks a lot Coronavirus, you inconsiderate prick.

I really believe Burrow is going to be a tremendous franchise QB.
The AFC North is going to be so fun to watch. I'm still rooting for Baker Mayfield to take the next step. I'd love to see those two battle with Lamar Jackson in Baltimore for the division.
And look, with Roethlisberger now on borrowed time in the NFL, the Steelers could be perennial cellar dwellers until they find a suitable franchise QB. Obviously, Mason Rudolph isn't going to be it.

Thanks for doing that. I wonder how fast this will go with all of the “remain at home” orders nationwide.
And, that trip to Portugal I mentioned? I will be here for the duration of the draft.
Stay safe.
We could go 7 Rounds and make more work for you :)

Funny, I was thinking the same thing
I do wonder a bit about where he'd fit with us but I trust the coaching staff to make it work.
Also considered Derrick Brown tbh (on top of the OT's).
I doubt the draft will play out this way, with Miami getting at shot at all the QBs other than Burrow without trading up.
I also think he's a little less risky than other tweeners because he's undeniably good in coverage and coverage is becoming so important in the game today. The guy ran a 4.38 at 6'4/238. Let him take away TE's and play a shallow CF role as a LB all day long and use his speed on the edge. Hard to see how he can't at least do those things at an extremely high level relative to other LBs.
Nnnnooooooooo, not him
Did I freak out enough?
If DG takes a tackle, and the one he picks turns out to be the worst of the big four, he'll never live it down. Taking Simmons could always be defended
(that said, I still want a tackle)

I'm with you. I want, and would pick an OT, but I don't see how anyone could be upset with Simmons instead (just like if someone wanted Simmons and we pick an OT). We have a lot of good choices. Its not like we are picking David Wilson out of nowhere again.
I plan on cleaning up.

If allowed, would you have considered trading up? If so, what pick would you have targeted and what would have been a reasonable offer to you?
Considered Wirfs as they could use help at guard too, but the upside of Beckton was too much to pass on.
Thought about Herbert too.

Panthers couldn't pass up Brown. They thought about QB for a second, but they may have a plan to address that. Brown gives them help on the DL where they sorely need it

Took Beckton, think Brown was the best player left by a lot but the Chargers really need a quality tackle.

Good pick. That's what I would do if I were them.
Their QB situation is interesting. Allen, Walker, and Bridgewater. Doesn't seem like they have a definitive long-term answer, but they have a lot of options, that maybe one works out..

Duh. Who thought the Dolphins wouldn't pick Tua? Waiting on my two other first rounders now :-)

Yes sir. I would have went to the Lions. Either 1st round pick would have been theirs for the choosing, but not both. I could have given them a 2nd to go with the 28th pick. I've got the 39th and 56th picks in the 2nd round as well for collateral. I'm rich beeeeyoch!
Dolphins have the most draft collateral in the NFL with 14 picks. They are as follows:
5, 18, 26, 39, 56, 70, 141, 153, 155, 174, 186, 228, 247, 252

Panthers makes sense as they signed Bridgewater, but not sure how the Chargers could pass on Justin Herbert and would bet no way they do.
