WR Corey Coleman is going to re-sign with the Giants, per source. A one-year deal after tearing his ACL last summer.
he looked good in preseason last year and seemed super-motivated. If Shep's concussions prove a continuing problem (sure hope not), and CC plays well, he could see alot of snaps this year, perhaps even start on the outside. We could use his over-the-top speed.
“ EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The Giants and wide receiver Corey Coleman have reached an agreement on a one-year contract, according to a report by Jordan Raanan of ESPN.
Coleman, a 5-11, 185-pounder, is entering his fifth NFL season and third with the Giants. He missed the entire 2019 season after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament in the first full-squad training camp practice on July 25. Coleman was placed on injured reserve two days later.
A 2016 first-round draft choice by the Cleveland Browns, Coleman joined the Giants' practice squad on Oct. 18, 2018 and was signed to the active roster one week later. He played in eight games with one start - Dec. 23 at Indianapolis – and caught five passes for 71 yards, with a long reception of 30 yards. Coleman also led the 2018 Giants with 23 kickoff returns for 598 yards (26.0-yard avg), with a long of 51 yards and had one punt return for 19 yards.
Coleman has played in 27 regular-season games with 19 starts for the Browns and the Giants. His career totals include 61 catches for 789 yards (12.9-yard avg.) and five touchdowns. Coleman also has three rushing attempts for 15 yards, 23 kickoff returns for 589 yards (26.0-yard avg.) and two punt returns for 19 yards.” Link - ( New Window )
It normally takes 2 years to fully heal an ACL ...
That doesn't mean I'm not rooting hard for him. We need someone to take the pressure off Slayton, nobody else on the team can (except maybe Engram); but that' a worn-out story.

2 years? That sounds like it might be wrong, or at least outdated.
some players take time to come back some don't - AP broke records
The Coaching staff praised Corey Coleman several times last offseason. It could have been a motivational tactic but I am excited to see him in training camp and the preseason. If the light has suddenly gone on for him then that would be a great development for the Giants.
At least he is a very good return man but let's hope that he can contribute on offense as well because his speed will be a welcomed addition.
and did not want to give up on him after one season. But, now 3 seasons in and 2 were dreadful. Why would we have any confidence the 1 good season is what to expect and not the 2 bad ones? I'm not saying cut him just yet, not at his salary. But, I sure as shit want some competition and a short leash.

.
Two years ago, missed one FG all year, made the Pro Bowl.
Last year, made about 75 % of his kicks, not dreadful,
but not up to snuff. Also, DeOssie didn't help matters
with some of his snaps, I wouldn't give up on Rosas.
Just bring in someone to compete with him.

He was hurt early, so he will have had over a year before the season starts.
It'll be interesting to see if Rosas returns to form?!

Just saw Steven Godtkowski was being released by Pat's. Good bet JJ brings him in for competition
He deserves a chance to prove himself and I'm glad the Giants are giving him another shot.
Hope he can be a contributor but seems unlikely.

Doubtful because of the price. The Giants will bring in another kicker to give Rosas some competition but it will likely be an UDFA after the draft.

Blew out his ACL in 2019.
Call it brittle. Call it bad luck. Some guys just can't get it figured out.
