Remember that 97/98 Giants defense?

Tony in Berlin : 3/23/2020 5:45 pm
Strahan, Armstead, Hamilton, Sparks, Sehorn, Bratzke? Man, I loved that defense. Here‘s a clip from way back when.
Frerotte‘s nightmare - ( New Window )
Strahan was a little chunky

and Hamilton drove Frerotte's head into the painted concrete. Speaking of which the end zone was beautiful.
Loved it

I was 11/12 yrs old, and just all over that 97 team
Strahan was a beast that gane
ZogZerg : 3/23/2020 6:27 pm : link
He played a long time
I miss Strahan.

.
Keith Hamilton was such an underrated force

we didn't truly appreciate his presence on the interior DL until after he was gone. I just remember that period of the late 90s especially it felt like no team could get more than 2 yards running the ball (prime Strahan obviously a big part of that too).
Armstead
theold5j : 3/23/2020 7:34 pm : link
Was my favorite of that era
Still pissed about Sehorn tearing his ACL vs. the Jets.

He was on the fast track to super-stardom.
damn I miss having a D
Payasdaddy : 3/23/2020 8:02 pm : link
sehorn injury did suck he was a stud at that point
we had no playmakers on O
charles way and calloway?
Did notice stahan was around 285 there
he played better under 270
never remember strahan having too many bad games any time after 1997still wish he wouldve suited back up december 2008 for playoff run when D was running on pass rush fumes
couldve got a solid 25-30 plays out of him in playoffs
I'd take the 2007 or 2011

defense as well.
Armstead was such a force back then

Best linebacker we had in the past 25 years.

Even after the injury many BBIers defended Fassell's decision to let JS return kicks. True.
That was reminiscent of the ‘86 team’s dominance!

Wow, just wow. I had forgotten about that. It was also reminiscent of the horror show the Patriots put on the Jets in the Butt Fumble game, which had it’s own nightmare sequence. Thanks for posting. You don’t see this kind of ass kicking often.
Interesting how a few of the highlights
FranknWeezer : 3/23/2020 11:10 pm : link
were deep kickoffs into the EZ. Daluiso was a weapon back then. Kickoffs have been largely taken out of the game by now, obviously. Funny to imagine a KO nowadays making it onto a highlight reel.
That

'98 opener vs. the Skins is one of my all time favorite regular season games. I've searched the net hoping someone was cool enough to record and upload it somewhere but to no avail. On the down side that was during what I called our "musical QBs" years.
I loved that D

and I agree that we need another Keith Hamilton. Great football player.
The Stadium used to rock

That guy always left every single ounce on the field.
