Losing sack leader

Golden was still a FA. Fackrell had 10.5 sacks when he played for Patrick Graham. Also, a lot of Golden's sacks were coverage sacks when our DB's actually held up on a play. He really did not do a lot of disruption blowing up plays before they could start.

but it would APPEAR as of now that he has priced himself above what teams would be willing to pay, imv.

I think Golden will be available. I think the Giants still feel like theres a chance they can get Clowney as the longer he is unsigned the lower the price gets since teams are signing players to fill those spots.

Golden is not going to get the big deal he was expecting imo, neither is Clowney. They may have to settle for 1 year deals.

The Giants would love Golden back, if Clowney's price was 16 - 17 per year, then the Giants could consider releasing Williams and signing Clowney, I am totally against signing Clowney.

He receievd more STATISTICAL benefit from the DL than he provided to them. He's a nice rotational Piece...He is NOT a front line Edge or OLB or DE.

He plays hard...He gets what comes his way, and then some.

and the fact that Clowney is still out there should give a realistic market value.

Jenkins = $ 5 Million

Clowney wants $20 Million

Golden should be worth about $10 Million.

Keep in mind that Floyd got a $ 10 Million which could be $13 Million.

Say what you want about Golden, but IMO he is as good as any one of the above with the exception of CLowney, yet had better sack production and stayed much healthier.

He is a good lockerroom guy. He would be solid in a multiple front as well.

Not exactly special.

Xmen is a similar style with possibly more upside

for some of his positives as mentioned above, but if they go with Fackrell, Carter, X, and a draft pick I will not be surprised a bit.

...than Golden’s. Golden’s seemed mostly coverage related and he is a relentless attacker. Fackrell’s seem more ligit, beating his man cleanly and getting to the QB.

Any opposition to this?

I like XMan's upside, and they have a shot add adding some effort and run guys in the Draft and through the end of FA--they already have.
