NFT: Verizon.net/Yahoo outlook problems

davek3698 : 3/24/2020 12:57 pm
My home email address is a verizon.net one and I run MS Outlook 2016. I keep getting 0x800CCC0F and 0x800CCC0E errors when trying to send/receive. “The connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues contact your server administrator or internet service provider.”

I tried reaching out to Verizon for help, but they said that they no longer provide such email support and to contact yahoo now. I can’t find support at yahoo that doesn’t charge. Anyone else run into this issue? Any known fixes? TIA.
Stuff to try

Almost certainly a problem with Outlook and not your email account.

Good luck.
How to fix the Outlook error 0x800ccc0f in Windows 10 - ( New Window )
The problem is not necessarily with Outlook.

Verizon outsourced their email to AOL and Yahoo. For some reason Yahoo is changing their authentication with their server when trying to sign on with another app. If you are with Yahoo through Verizon, go to My Yahoo, signin using and there is a tab for email.

The literal meaning of this error is that the connection to the mail server has been disconnected. The most likely cause is that an anti-virus program is locking files and interfering with the connection.

This was a fairly common problem when I was doing software support. Its not unusual for a poorly configured anti virus program to screw things up.

You said you are using Outlook as your client.

Did you try going through a browser to see if you get the same error?

You may want to also try removing and reinstalling your account through Outlook.

which is also hosted by the yahoos at Yahoo! Not that Outlook is innocent. I can receive, but it won't let me send anything.

through Yahoo too and can't send or receive any email through Outlook either. Started a few days ago. I can still get to my email through the web page and via the android app. No luck with Outlook though. Not the first time this has happened and probably won't be the last.
alright, I have a fix for this...

Go to your Yahoo account, hover over your username, and click settings. Then click account security. At the bottom of the page you will see Generate Password for App. Click that and choose outlook and then generate a password. Now go into Outlook and send/receive. When it asks for a password, paste the generated password without spaces and you're good to go.
