He has been listed as a CB/S and according to sports reference played CB his first year at WVU and the S for his last 3. In 49 games he had 6 INT's and 10 passes defensed.
He was highly recruited out of Aliquippa, PA to WVU. Started as a freshman. Had some injuries but was a good player and leader on the Mountaineers defense. Good ball-skills, good athlete.
He'll most likely be a safety who can play some nickel. Good athlete and rangy. Had a good showing in the XFL.
This is essentially like getting an extra late round pick to use on a DB since he is still a young player (graduated in 2018, only 24 years old).
RE: RE: Shouldn't this be in the FA Failure Thread?
I’m guessing this is more for camp fodder than anything else, perhaps.
dude you've been here far too long to have a shit take like that.
Giants and other teams have had multiple AFL/CFL/XFL players for workouts and some have been signed to small deals.
That goes for the rest of the ill informed posters on this thread too.
The top line was the joke. The bottom was likely why he was signed, in my opinion. He’s probably at best a ST’er and safety depth if he makes the team out of camp. I know Mark Calaway isn’t getting signed next...Although he might be a solid RT option...
No, of course not, but the vitrial toward every FA signed by the Giants is ridiculous.
Who knows if we end up winning more games...eitherway, it will be more about the some of its parts then any one super star.
Let's see how the roster ends up...what the coaches do with them.....
George, I feel your pain ... we have to remind ourselves there are a number of posters on BBI who either know nothing about football or are just interested in spewing negative garbage about everything our heroes do. They’re victims of their own insecurity.

Everyone wants every signing to be a Clowney type, but it doesnt work that way. Not many Clowneys to go around. Signings like this are much more common for ALL teams. Guy apparently played decent in the XFL, still young, and if things go great, maybe he makes the team, provides depth. Worth a shot to bring to camp. Gotta see what upside there is and hope for the best. If it doesnt work out...you try again. Thats the NFL. Every now and then teams hit on guys like this.
Maybe the giants feel more than the average free agent.
The term means nothing, It's all about the guaranteed money. The second year likely contains no money but it gives the Giants an option if he contributes enough as a backup/ST player.
Stats say safety candidate only. Sign 3 or 4. Maybe get lucky.
Terrible, Stupid, Clueless. Us experts know whats best, Gettleman is horrible, miserable, knows nothing. Another horrible, miserable, lousy season of football coming this year. Did I get enough in there for all of our football geniuses. Horrible, Clueless, Dumb.
It is best to dismiss their opinions as they are rarely objective. Here at BBI ignoring the negativity based on a narrative is best ignored. It makes for better discussion and avoids the clutter that so often accompanies many threads these days.
Me, I m naive enough to think the Giants really like this guy and think he has a chance to make the roster.

Except my buddy Rick is not complaining..:)
No, clue, but I think I am instantly his biggest fan..... His name is similar to mine. I wonder how he pronounces it?
Only difference is my first name does not have an 'R' in it.
