was the deep-dive I took into the Wellongton-Tim Mara fued and resolution. I learned a lot.
Oddly enough, the New York Times ran an article on the day of the 1986 NFLCG against the Redskins, that proved to be a very good resource.
Of course, the early and mid 1980s were my teenage years and it was a blast going back and reading all of the training camp reports and game summaries. They really brought me back in time.
My buddy wrote in our 1980 yearbook. "The Giants are going to win the Superbowl... Soon"
In 79-80, that seems like landing on the Moon, thats why 86 will always be my favorite year
If we had today's oversaturated, rush-to-judgment media coverage back then.
I wonder if Parcells and Harry Carson (who seemingly wanted to leave the team every other year) would have survived 1983. Would have been pretty embarrassing to have the dirty laundry of our "ownership" situation aired out even more than it was in public too.

Parcells nearly didn't survive 1983. If it weren't for Al Davis & Jimmy The Greek interveneing, who knows how that would've played out?
great times watching the ascent after growing up in the lean years. I was born in 1964. THe lean years beagn right out of the womb for the Giants, Yankees. Knicks wer fun for a while in grade school and I loved those Rangers.
Idea for you Larry: how about a piece on Mike Burke and how he ruined the Yankees, then went to the Garden and ruined the Knicks and Rangers? LOL

Forget Parcells, In this current environment no way Perkins sees '81. 10-22 in his first 2 years, including going backwards from 6-10 to 4-12 79 to 80? He'd have been axed.
