I'd take Flemming. We've seen Remmers and vet min tells you what the league thinks he's worth. I'd pay the extra just on the hope Fleming is something better.
If the staff didn’t trust that his back would hold up. Also, flemming, although not great is still relatively young. Maybe Someone lights a fire under his ass and gets him going.
Don't know if you can do that really. He was here and he stunk and the contract he got shows that's what everyone else thought as well. Why bring him back. Should we bring back Bethea if we could have gotten him at vet min?
Fleming can play both Left and Right tackle...Remmers is RT only.
Not saying Fleming is a full time starter at LT, but if you need him for a game, or part of a game (e.g. vs. Jets last season) at least he has played the position before.
not do the whole "man for that price we should have kept him" thing? The difference in Fleming's and Remmers' deal is not much.
Why not? Tackles are harder to find as backups. A car I wouldn't buy @ $20,000 looks a lot better @ $5,000. There's a point where value and price intersect.

Teams are limited to 53 players, eventually a $100 beater makes no sense
Depending on how the draft pans out and if Solder's body breaks down there's a reasonable chance Flemming plays.

+1

That flexibility is worth the $$.
Our former RT is now playing with a winner.
Last season, he was playing with a loser.
Maybe money means very little to the guy at this stage.
He can go to the Super Bowl with KC.
He was going no where with NY.
