The NFL Draft should get phenomenal ratings. People are desperate to look for normalcy and this will provide that.

It will also give a brief respite to the daily news. I, for one, am so looking forward to it.
Excellent

In early April. No they just drag it out way too far.
Haven't watched since the last expansion

It will be great to have the draft when it is supposed to be.

Don’t think I could handle more build up then there already is. It will be nice to have May to talk about the potential new team.

I will be surprised if the season starts on time and completely normal.
As it should

Just about every other industry is adapting to the pandemic. Most of us on this board are suffering through awkward video conferences when it would be significantly easier to do those in person. I know firsthand of a few employers that used to require face to face interviews during their hiring process that have now switched over to video. We’re all becoming acclimated to new and foreign tools that help groups of coworkers share information and data remotely. That probably scares the shit out of the dogmatic “that’s the way it’s done” contingent of NFL front offices, but considering that nobody has a clear timeline on this thing, they should probably have to figure it out like the rest of us white collar workers.
These GMs need to stop being babies

They can do this and need to do this.

They need to remember that the NFL is an entertainment industry and that role is needed right now and they have a responsibility to do so. We all need this,

And in all honesty, these NFL teams fire and then hire HCs in a matter of weeks and hire full coaching staffs in a month.

Yet somehow they can’t draft about 7 players to their team when they have a full boatload of scouts who have worked on it all year?

The Giants for example decided upon Judge after one interview for a few hours and a phone call to his boss yet we can’t figure out who to draft based upon oodles and oodles of tale on them? Already broken down by numerous scouts and coaches? The combine where they were tested in every way and probably met and interviewed most of these guys already?

Come on.

They can do this and need to do this, we all need this distraction, it’s more important to do this,

Get it done, and honestly move it UP! We need a distraction right now! And help this country stay IN. I’m ready to watch all 7 rounds of this Draft.

umm no its not just the GM's, its all the people working for the organization that are part of the draft, scouts, coaches, people working in general.

You're stealing them away from their families putting them at some type of risk during a scary time in our history for what, you're entertainment. fuck that

Postpone the draft.

An if you dont like it you can go color for a few more weeks

Like what? Interviews? Can be done through video, guess they can’t judge the grip of his handshake or what kind of pants he’s wearing. Medicals? That’s what the combine was for and they might have to rely on 3rd parties in some circumstances. The NFL will probably have to figure out some communication concessions to make up for the visiting aspect and it may negatively impact some lesser known small school kids with pro days but there are solutions for that. This isn’t a mass gathering social event, these are job interviews at this point. Other hiring industries with competitive talent pools are adapting for social distancing, nfl back offices can figure it out too.
Look back at the drafts of old
SCGiantsFan : 3/27/2020 8:05 am : link
along with how things are done currently.

In the past the teams would be at the facilities and call the person on he ground as to which card to turn in. Even it these days it is still a call to the person or person onsite, as to which player is going to be selected.

In the current drafts you see video of X teams war room and the response to selecting their guy. This years draft will be no much different. The team will call the NFL and make their selection. In the back ground the team could have a zoom conference call with all the owners, coaches, scouts and etc...chiming in. Use the more the technology that we have to it's fuller potential.

Keep the draft on.
why not do it in 1 day this year and get it over with?

Why? Have so much great stuff going on as a sports fan that you really want to cram it into one day so you don't miss any of the other action?

Of all years, this is not the one to be complaining about stretching it out over multiple days, IMO. The distraction alone will be worth it.

Right - I think the opposite. Give us 1 round per day for 3 days, then you can do 2 per day for 2 days.......or something.
thank God
