Go with what you have and take a beating for one season?
Get Winston, Dalton or someone else?
Trade up and draft one?
I would try to get Dalton who I think could get the Pats deep into the playoffs. He has been stuck with a bunch of “me first” losers for years.
I think Winston hit his ceiling and won’t get any better. His attitude was always bad and won’t change.
If he does opt for a trade, maybe he’d consider bringing Brussett back from the Colts ... that would be as plug and play as possible.
Well, Belichick is used to hard working, tough, student of the game at QB so that should work out great.
I think they may bring in a veteran backup (besides Kessler or Hoyer), and maybe will say it's an open competition, but I think they want Stidham to be the opening day starter.

Then make a decision if Stidham is a long term answer, if not, draft someone in the late first early second to groom.

He's also used to winning and Cam's the only veteran out there who's done that.
Stidham looked like human garbage the one time I saw him play.
Or sit and wait for Jalen Hurt or some other Tier 2 QB.

Mariota is with the Raiders.

Stidham threw four passes.
Here is the latest from today;
NBC Sports Boston's Tom E. Curran noted the Patriots "haven't wavered" on plans to move forward with second-year signal-caller Jarrett Stidham.
The 23-year-old leads a depth chart that is filled out by Cody Kessler and Brian Hoyer.
According to The Athletic's Stephen Holder, the Patriots and Indianapolis "engaged in discussions" about a Hoyer deal before the 34-year-old was released by the Colts.
I didn't consider Rosen. He was very unimpressive with Miami. I didn't think he had even 1 good quarter in the games he played.
Regarding Newton, Belichick may take on a reclamation project or home improvement project, but I don't think he would bother with Newton's injuries, ego and head case all at once.
I think he could win with Dalton.
BB won't want to deal with Newton's 'baggage'.
I doubt very much he brings him in, plus he
has had about three shoulder surgeries.
Passing a physical recently doesn't mean that much
to other teams, they would want their own doctors
to look at him, can't really do that at the moment.
Every veteran suggestion fails to consider that the Patriots are already eating $13M in dead money for Brady. Any veteran that is worth a damn such as Cam isn't signing for peanuts. Even if they could secure Cam for $15M/yr, they aren't going to commit $30+M in cap space to the position. If they were going to do that, they would have just retained Brady.
They tank to the tune of 1-15, or whatever it takes to have the worst record in the league in 2020, and then draft Trevor Lawrence 1st overall in the 2021 draft.
Who but Sunshine can replace the GOAT?
And BB wins another 4-5 SB trophies.
Thank you, agreed. And Cam can't play football anymore.
