DG doesn't trade down, in my world he does!!!
Giants institute 2 trades to start.
Trade #4 to LAC for #6 and #37.
Giants the trade #36 and #37 for #24 with New Orleans.
Giants have the following picks.
#6
#24
#99
#110
#150
#183
#218
#238
#247
#255
I used the draft boards (really like the setup at this site)
http://draftboardguru.com/valuedef/
#6 - Tristan Wirfs OT Iowa - Rumors are that DG likes Wirfs. Wouldn't surprise me at all, kid is huge but athletic. Comes from a power program. I also looked at the Patriots tackles, they are usually on the larger side (inside guys are smaller and more nimble) Cannon, Solder, Brown. Wynn was athletic as well. Giants get a RT of the foreseeable future. Combine him with Zeitler and our power TEs and the running game will start to come on.
#24 - Yetur Gross-Matos ER Penn State - Projects to a 43 DE, but I think the Giants will be running both versions of the defense. Gross-Matos is a very athletic, persistent pass rusher, reminds me of Derek Barnett on the Eagles. Becomes part of the rotation but as he grows into his frame, he will help revitalize the Giants anemic pass rush. Delpit was really tempting here.
#99 - Tyler Biadiaz OC Wisconsin - I've watched every game he's played. His floor is very high, he will be a solid starter in the NFL. Is he a power mover, no, but a smart technician. Already well coached and a smart partner for Jones.
#110 - Kenny Robinson S WVU - Completely stealing this from YANKEE28, already signed his teammate from the XFL and Robinson was forced to enter the draft. A center fielder, Robinson provides competition for Love at FS. 7 picks at WVU, 2 in the XFL.
#150 - Antonio Gandy-Golden WR Liberty - Kid is 6'4", 223 lbs. We know DG loves big receivers. Project Gandy Golden to a big Z, but he can get deep. Improved his hands from 2018 to 19. Kid is a project, played at Liberty, but doesn't have to start with Tate, Shep and Slayton.
#183 - Chris Orr LB WIS - Shout out to Jay on the Island. Chris Orr is a well coached ILB with good measurables. Provides depth at the ILB position and will be a special teamer. Kid has upside.
#218 - Binjamin Victor - Size Speed WR from OSU
#238 - Patrick Taylor - RB from Memphis
#247 - Jon Runyan - OT from Michigan
#255 - Tanner Muse - LB/S project.
As I look at this mock, I didn't really step outside the lines as I usually do, went more for need/value than BPA. Will be interesting to see what DG does. As always a fun exercise, any feedback welcome.
The two players you get in rd 2 are much more valuable than 24. It’s a deep second round and you might be able to get Gross at 36
Definitely is possible. I think except for the guy from Temple and Ruiz, because you could move them to OG, you are going to see C’s drop. Why rush to get one in Round 2 or early Round 3 when you could get Williams or Harris two rounds later and the WR/Edge Rusher/DB pool looks awfully strong in that early Round 3 area

36 and 37 actually get you all the way to pick 15. Now maybe you don't get 15 but 24 is too far back and would be poor value. Now our 3rd and next years fourth to get up to 24 ....makes more sense.
I think you're draft is decent but Wirfs is my OT #4. Gross Matos has tons of potential but has been inconsistent.I think you took him a little early but I get it. Biadasz at #99 is probably close to what will happen but the injuries worry me. I flat out don't like drafting injured guys. I get that DB rankings fluctuate a lot but for me you took Robinson more than a full round too early.
So with your prime picks I think you did ok but imo you didn't get value.
Watch my comments in Dave's thread.
I would do cartwheels if we could sign Cephus as a UFA (though I would easily spend a 7 round on him (if not higher!!!)

Yes Jay, meant you! You have been stumping for Orr for a few weeks now.

Agreed

For example, maybe 36, 37 turn out to be DE Bradley Anae and S Kyle Dugger.
Still...nice job on the OP.
Agreed
I would spend a draft pick on him. He will play on Sundays.

to the wrong Jay, LOL.

Orr and Cephus.
Awesome if we get Orr and Baun. Connelly.
Too bad we didn't sign Schobert. LOL
The late lamented Dave thinks Orr will wind up in Buffalo with Edwards (another dissed Badger) -- in which case the Bills will become my #2 NFL team.

Jay, hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Edwards is actually with the damn Eagles.
It is funny how Wisconsin has draft eligible players at basically all the spots the Giants are weakest at. Baun, Biadasz, Orr and Cephus all make sense. Think Cephus will make some plays at the next level. Not worried about his timed speed.

I think I was responding to Dave's info in another thread. Yea, some others as will recently :(
Dave seems to be someone who respects the Badgers.
To me Cephus is a sure bet to be playing on Sunday. Not actually sure why he came out in such a strong WR class, but the young man sure has had his share of challenges.
I actually like(d) Edwards and Orr more than Connelly -- but think he is a late developer. Orr impressed as a true Frosh.
I expect at least 5 Badgers from this class to be on NFL rosters.
