Jason La Canfora "Redskins open to trading out"

JLC today on CBS: I continue to hear that the #Redskins are increasingly open to trading out... If they do trade back a few spots, I believe strongly they would target Isaiah Simmons, and that's another player who I'm told is super-high on their board.

Considering the source I'd take it with a grain of salt. Also John Middlekauff did a mock draft on The Athletic today and had the Redskins trading the 2nd pick to the Dolphins. Figured I'd post it as there isn't much to talk about right now.
I don't buy it

but I also think the same can be said for anyone not named the Bengals.
I guess they’re moving up to #1

😆
Even Cincinnati would say they are “open”...

To trading down provided they are overwhelmed with an offer to trade out. Doesn’t make it very likely though.
Yeah give me 3 #1's and I'll trade out....

The only way I see Chase Young making it to the Giants

Chargees pull off trade with Detroit assuming the Redskins standing firm.

And

Then Miami offers a ridiculous offer to the Redskins
JLC = moron

I dont know why anyone believes anything this hack says. He just throws crap up against the wall.
I actually buy it more than some

here as I think Rivera knows Young, while a potentially very good edge guy is extremly limited. He isn't going into coverage and his run stopping isn't the greatest. Simmons would be a rover, a Thomas Davis without the injuries...
Nobody is trading spots in top 4

This is just entertainment for the masses for the time being.
Sorry Danny Boy

Miami can legit do this - and with all the FA they've signed - I could see them doing it.

Let's also not forget that the Dolphins (even with dumping all their #1s) have 2 2nd rd picks 1 - a 3rd - 1 4th - 3 5ths - 1 6th - 3 7ths.

Miami will be a major player in this draft by moving around - and I think they'll do it a lot.

I'm not buying it. If nobody in the top 3 trades out the Giants will be sitting at 4 with trade offers from Carolina and San Diego to jump Miami. They would be foolish to take Wirfs when they could move back, still get Wirfs or Wills and an extra pick (or 2).

Detroit will likely be the trade out, but dismissing the possibility of Washington getting a big offer is silly.

I'm not sure why year after year you guys think you have it all figured out and know for sure what's going to happen. Every year it goes different and you say all the GMs are idiots for not doing what you predicted

..and here we are again, you all know what's going to happen?

You all are exactly like the talking heads.

This is a smart move and a good leak

always a good idea to get an insane offer. AT least get the bidding war started.
unless Chargers trade Up to #1 or 2, it doesn’t make sense for
Ivan15 : 3/30/2020 12:59 pm : link
either Lions Or Chargers to finalize a trade at 3 until picks 1 and 2 are made. The only way something exciting happens pre draft is if Fins or Chargers can get to #2.
The Redskins only trading partner would be Mia
stoneman : 3/30/2020 1:06 pm : link
No one else has the draft capital - even if you include next years #1s in all of the trade scenarios, no way Wash is dropping below #7 (Jax and LV would have 3 #1 to deal).

No way Mia bites on Wash trading out of #2 spot with Jax/LV. LAC would only have #6 and next years #1 to bargain with. Simmons would be gone by #5.

Why can’t they drop below #7? Their biggest needs are LT, CB, and WR. I am sure they’ll value 3 1sts over Young, the only question is if someone offers that.
What is worst for the Giants
rasbutant : 3/30/2020 3:43 pm : link
Redskins stay at #2 and draft Chase Young
or
Redskins trade down get a bunch of picks still draft a Simmons or Okudah, Brown.

If Chase Young is the player people claim he is, then the Redskins getting Young is the worst outcome. Look at the rest of their defensive line. Young might break the rookie sack record.
