Does the Giants over-sized defensive line and run oriented interior linebackers allow them to minimize some of the weaknesses typically found within the interior of a 3-3-5 while hiding some of their lack of speed at both positions? It would seem to be a base formation that would allow both Peppers and Simmons to be used at the same time. Outside of difficulty stopping inside zone runs what are the other inherent weaknesses associated with the 3-3-5? Looking for people smarter than I am, I like Simmons, but I don't think he is ideally suited as an ILB.
He would allow us to run a base 3-4 with him in one of 4 positions: ILB, OLB, FS, SS.
In a 3-3-5 he would be a FS,SS, NCB or ILB. Same in a 4-2-5.
In a 4-1-6 he could be the spy MLB.
He is so versatile that he doesn't limit you. The coaching staff can't limit him either.
It can work, it’s just going to take some savvy.

They have similar skills, but not identical and each could be the in the box safety or the strong up safety.
