Cameron Fleming (Giants) one-year, $3.5M ($2M gtd), salary $1.5M ($500K gtd), $1.5M 5th day after contract execution roster bonus, up to $500K per game active roster bonus, up to $500K playtime incentive
key point is a contract that had been reported to be a 1-year, $4 million deal is more a 1-year, $3.5 million deal that includes playing time incentives that COULD make it a $4 million deal.
So does $500K of the play time bonus $ mean if he hits, it rolls over to 2020-2021 salary cap?
Hard to say how much money is LTBE vs. NLTBE without knowing details. In broad terms, I would guess that the per-game active bonus is mostly LTBE and the playing-time money is mostly NLTBE. So, if Fleming ends up starting all year, his playing-time bonus will probably hit the cap in 2021. On the other hand, in the unlikely event that he gets cut or winds up inactive much of the year, the Giants probably would get a cap credit next year.
So does $500K of the play time bonus $ mean if he hits, it rolls over to 2020-2021 salary cap?
Probably a portion (most) of it. He played ~25% of the snaps for Dallas last year, so some of the bonus might be characterized as likely to be earned and thus would count against the 2020 cap (and then credited if he falls short of the mark).
Won't stop the BBI capologists from complaining about it.
FWIW, it's about the 4th highest OT salary in the league (if he hits the $3.5M) and ~55th highest if he falls short of the bonuses. And those rankings will drop a bit after the draft, especially if 4+ OTs are taken in the 1st round since even as an OT drafted in the bottom half of round 1 in 2019, Dillard earns >$3M per year.

$3.5 mill is the 4th highest OT salary in the league?

I think he misworded that and meant total.
Just throwing that out there
Sign Clowney. Go OT at 4. FS at 36. OC at 99... if the value matches... I believe we should be able to compete right away if we can pull that off.

You think Giants think Gates could be a viable solution for RT or OC?
