#Bengals CB Dre Kirkpatrick said goodbye to teammates on Instagram, and the team has informed him of his release. A quality starting CB on the market.
would love if the Giants signed him. He's had some injury troubles the past few years, but he adds depth to a young CB group. I like the players we have, but between Beal's injury troubles, Baker's inconsistency (though I thought he improved toward the end of the year) and Ballentine still needing work, I would feel much better to have a solid veteran presence back there opposite Bradberry.
This is said on many threads: ‘he’s had injury problems
the last bunch of years, but IF HEALTHY, he could help/be great depth.’ He’s older, suddenly he’s gonna be injury-free or relatively so?
ShocknRoll, this was not aimed at you per se, merely generalizing
I think it's a solid add regardless of whether or not he's had injury problems in the past. He would be competition for Baker and Beal which would push them to work harder. Also if Kirkpatrick were to go down with another injury then that just opens the door for Baker/Beal to step into the starting spot. If Kirkpatrick can play the slot well then I think he would be an excellent addition.
I'm still hoping that Logan Ryan lowers settles for a 1 year deal here.

Depends on cost obviously. But at the right price worth the risk. 30 is still youngish for a CB if we aren't going 8 digit contract. Like Sam Madsion (though even younger).

It would have to be a 1 year deal $5 million with playing time incentives to potentially bring it up to $8-9 million.
