So basically they worked around a bunch of signing bonuses and such. Do you guys think this freed up $ for Golden, will they hopefully extend LW soon and free up more space? Assumption is Solder is getting cut next off season unless he has a huge bounce back year.
travis fredrick retired and it shows you how operating a roster with limited dead cap space. They only have 2.7 MM compared to our 11 MM get you.
If you pay the right people and structure the contracts well you always can have cap space. If you continue to work with a ton of dead money which DG operates with all his misses. That is how we end up with so much dead money.
worse and worse...considering he plays the exact same position as Sterling Shepard who we just signed and the emergence of Slayton. We really could use a tall WR too...Golden Tate has no role here and he has a lot of dead money the next 2 years!

He sure seemed to find a role last season but hey, I just watch the games

$4.7M dead cap next year, 2.35M 22... it’s a lot and yes NYG 100% do need a tall WR. If they can somehow move down a spot or 2 in this draft and gain another 2nd and maybe another 3rd, can go for Pittman or some other tall WRs in this draft. Luckily this draft is extremely deep at WR and several tall WRs. In regards to Shepard, he truly has to consider retirement with all of his concussions. One more and he 100% needs to leave for his own sake and he kind of should now. CTE is very worrisome.

are you expecting Sterling Shepard to play in 10 games again? Because almost every big Tate game was when Shepard was out with the concussion. They duplicate each other and we are paying them a $20 million dollar cap number combined.
For example Deandre Hopkins makes similar money to Tate.

It's usually an indicator you have a good team if you're up against the cap, NE is always skating the edge.
Conversely a bad indicator when you have a ton of cap space like the Giants as of late.
