Is a hugh advantage under this conditions, as not only will he be ready....he will make sure everyone else will be in right.position

but i've warmed up to the Martinez signing. The mental side of things is critical for whoever wears the headset on defense, especially if it's a new player and new system. I'm not sure if Schobert (don't think he did, Kirksey?) or Littleton had that experience, but even if they did they certainly didn't have it with Graham as coach.

So in theory while I'd have preferred to get a more mobile coverage player, getting the right guy to lead the defense may be the bigger deal. If he sucks as bad as Ogletree did on the field it won't matter but there's enough encouraging stuff out there that I don't expect that to be the case.

I was very concern about his coverage capabilities....and its still probably not a strength.

But considering this crazy off season, new coaches ....his mental strength will be invaluable.

Hell, last years defense were still making mental mistakes throughout entire season

headset. But first step of the coaches fixing it is getting players they trust to not make mistakes and to play unselfishly (especially guy on the headset). So it's a little bit chicken or the egg.

If Judge is staking his success on Graham building a good defense, trusting his belief in specific players is part of that. Judge's high opinion of Graham (AHC) could be the evaluation that sinks or swims his entire regime.
