But I'd like him with our 3rd or 4th.

Never had more than 48 tackles as a LB. Got into multiple off field situations last season resulting in a season ending suspension from the program. He really need that time as a junior to establish he was growing and improving as a player.

Is he athlete or football player? Does he have the character to pass muster for the Giants who have higher standards in this regard than some teams.

Ultimately I think we'd pass and imo he'll be drafted late 4th early 5th round.

now how well does he play?

He was suspended for academics, but I read that he's actually a really good guy and very well-liked.

I have known a lot of shitty people in my life. Some are my friends. However, what makes someone not a good person is the actions that they have. Everybody has good and bad in them. There are mistakes and then there are patterns. A mistake happens hopefully that is the last time. When there is a pattern then that is who the person is. Doesn't mean a person cannot change. All I am saying is you are what you do.

and a blanket statement that NFL teams 'are ok with him' is comprehensive.

Then DJ talked to teams around the league and said Gay interviewed really well and handled himself really well.

Sounds more like they don't want to shit all over him than how teams internal thought process regarding how it will effect his draft status.

We'll see. Ultimately his film is uneven, incomplete and so was his behavior.

I think I'll stick with my late 4th/early 5th prediction.

Took responsibility for his mistakes and seems like a decent dude. Good interview.

and they mentioned he may have a tough time with this process because of his off the field transgressions, and he won't be able to meet with teams face to face. Seems like a player the Giants will stay away from, and has Cincinnati written all over him.

the X factor I didn't account for was Oakland choking and making the mistake in taking ferrell that I didn't think belonged in the Top 5. I was right about that BTW. Allen clearly outperformed him and will have the better career.
