Vacchiano believes Wirfs is the guy they want? Given his draft track record, seems like these goofballs are using Matt Miller's report as some sort of gospel.
And Lawrence and Baker. And everyone knows who they like this year. Oh, they believe the rumors about Wirfs so it's the Giants who can't keep a secret.

Not to mention how they KNEW the Giants would not pick Josh Allen so that they could get Jones
He’s not verified on Twitter. Does he know things or just make it up to get clicks? It seems to me that DG feels OT is the move because Jones and Barkley. If it’s Simmons, kind of seems hidden.
for a bunch of years earlier this decade news of whom the Giants were picking always seemed to leak the night before. DG seems to have clamped down some.
Daniel Jones is the perfect example, few pundits predicted him as our first pick last year.
went to the twitter of the original guy who started the post and he owns a catering company in Chicago. He has branched out into online gambling ventures and this tweet seems to be more self promotion than insider knowledge.
I've heard from very credible sources that the Giants really like Wirfs, and that they like Simmons, and that they really like Brown - so I'm not sure what this guy is talking about

I've heard the same. Love for Wirfs and Brown was known early.
As much as I criticize Getty and Jints Central, I actually don’t think anyone can guess wtf the Giants will do in the draft. Now, please don’t confuse me, I’m not offering a compliment. If you’re unpredictable and impulsive, that ain’t great, but you’re also probably not gonna telegraph your punches.
ZZ -- this is not based on my own assessment -- it's based on what I've heard -- I happen to really like WIlls, but my credible sources took him down a peg due to his size and his engagement abilities -- I think he's a pretty polished prospect with great punch -- those who know better question whether his moves will translate at the next level to tackle, and be able to be countered by opposing professionals

A buddy of mine gets tips here and there, there is about 3 guys the Giants like at pick 4. Perfect for a trade down scenerio with Miami or Carolina
confirmation bias at its best. I love how these wads don't conjure up the 100s of instances when they guessed wrong. LIke, LAST FUCKING YEAR, for example.
In the last week I've seen posts supported by various media and posters that 'they were all over Becton' at the Combine, he's the guy. No, everyone knows DG has a woody for Wirfs(nice alliteration right?), nah c'mon guys they've done an awful job hiding their man love for Simmons.
The best part is that after the Draft, if one of them is right, the conspiracy loons will go on and on about the Giants'security issues' and 'telegraphing' the pick. Hahaha.
And Lawrence and Baker. And everyone knows who they like this year. Oh, they believe the rumors about Wirfs so it's the Giants who can't keep a secret.

To the extent that writers or anyone else within the rumor mill might "know" who the Giants intend to take, it's sort of irrelevant whether they "know" who the Giants would pass on in the process, especially if the entire premise centers on the Giants being so locked in on a target that the prediction is unlikely to be proven false.
If a writer did in fact predict Jones to the Giants in advance of the draft last year, DG passing on Allen to choose Jones doesn't weaken that writer's prediction in the least, no matter how you view it. If anything, it strengthens the value of the prediction.
That said, I don't remember many people claiming in advance that they knew Jones was the choice, so it's largely irrelevant. But I don't think you need to contort yourself to try to make the entire exercise of predictions absurd. The reality is, many of these writers DO get fed legitimate tips and DO have access to info leaks within many front offices. They don't have to provide a detailed prediction of exactly who will be on the board at the time of a selection to establish their bona fides with regard to access to info.

I am really getting the feeling they are going to pick Brown.
We have the 4 pick and not the 1 so the the idea that we only “like” 1 player is nonsense.
Why would the Giants not like Isaiah Simmons? I have no doubt that the reports that the Giants “like” Whirfs. I’d imagine that to mean that we like Whirfs best amongst the OL this year.
The question is who would we draft if both are available at 4?
Or what do we do if we are offered a trade to drop down to 5 or 6 or 9?
Isaiah Simmons is going to be rated higher than the OL and he also fills a need the Giants have and he matches up with Judges philosophies and plays an important position in the NE defensive system that priotizes the ILB/S position, This isn’t rocket science that they will like him
My best guess is that Simmons is the Giants likely pick and they are prepared to take OL if Simmons is off the board and that choice would be Whirfs, it’s also possible the Giants could drop down a spot or two and take Whirfs in the right trade scenario.
RE: this critism was more common during the Reese era

Mayock knew for certain Pugh was our pick. Pathetic.
corner and hand out fliers as to who they are taking. It doesn't matter because Cincy is taking Burrow, DC is taking Young, Detroit is either trading or taking Okudah, Brown or Simmons and then the Giants get who they want. Plenty of really good players will be left when the Giants pick. So they are likely to take Simmons or an OT
Curious if you've heard any Giants in interest Becton?
No, my guess is he's down on a different tier.
Thanks, that would probably make him in play in a trade down scenario.
I don't think the Giants will trade down to a spot where a lower tier is in play. Unless Becton is in play for #4 (and it sounds like he's not), I doubt DG trades down far enough to put him in play at all. By the hints that DG has dropped in talking about trading down, he won't drop far enough to be mathematically out of range for the same tier they're looking at for #4.
is keeping his mouth closed and not telegraphing his moves. Anyone who says anything different hasn't been watching.
However he might have given it away when he said you can’t complete passes lying on your back . Imo giants are going OT all the way and I wouldn’t be surprised if it comes down from Mara I think he’s getting tired of this offensive line crap .....

I think I’m going to be sick.
Most were thinking Josh Allen.

Maybe they’re doing a good job of keeping a secret.
Most were thinking Josh Allen.
Agreed, although I think there were rumors that they really liked Lawrence.

I mean generally speaking, the Giants could want almost every player projected in Rd 1.
Seems like this a no news at all.

I mentioned Lawrence last year after DJ was picked.
Curious if you've heard any Giants in interest Becton?
They still have the option to:
1. Pick a stud defender in either Okudah or Brown
2. Take the pick of the litter of the elite OTs
3. Hold a Tua auction and trade down
These guys are talking just to talk
Most were thinking Josh Allen.
No one (except me :P) thought Josh Allen would drop to 6
Who am I to defend Dave, but it takes 2 to tango.
NO ONE saw that coming.

He's predicted Becton, Wirfs and Simmons this year at different times.
I really do think this pick more then anything else is going to answer the question of how much power DG still has as GM.

Saw lots of quotes that Bettcher would take him at 17
Keep repeating that as often as you like, but Brown and the top OL are all in play. It's not even remotely narrowed down to just Okudah and Simmons.
