Kreiter, who made the Pro Bowl in 2018, becomes the favorite to replace Zak DeOssie, who served as the Giants’ long snapper for the past 13 seasons
No doubt the new staff is going to take it very seriously. Makes sense for a team like this - going to take time to rebuild the overall roster still, but close games can be won with game changing plays (or just no screw ups) on specials.
But he's sadly washed. Helluva Giant. Ring of Honor worthy? I say yes.
Also cracked me up that his old man is a big media presence in Boston & covers the Pats. Meanwhile, his son was on 2 teams that beat the Pats in the Super Bowl.
Father Steve gave his son Zak great advice for an NFL career
Solid signing, solid veteran. DeOssie had a great run.
I think our offense is looking at being ".500"; our defense around ".500" IF the youth develops. We could have a winning season if we stay healthy; draft well; and, the division is still bad. My biggest concern is whether the coaching staff will have enough "off-season" to get guys into the system and ready.
Offense ain’t too shabby with 1-2 better OL guys needed...
But then, we come to the defense......hmmmm.....I don’t know what to make of this unit.....so many young guys in the secondary...will they mature with better coaching? We can only hope.....
And I just read about him that he made the Pro Bowl as a long snapper with the Broncos back in 2018. So here's hoping he can do a good job here.

Undrafted, signed with the Cowboys. Then went to Denver.
Hopefully one of the three LS candidates will be as good as Zak and make plays down-the-field.
I knew someone would, but I wouldn’t have guessed it would be you lol

Agreed. Last 2 plus seasons featured more shaky snaps than acceptable. Zak should be remembered as a great Giant.
My question: DeOssie was drafted as a LB. When do you think was the last time he did practice drills with linebackers?

He's a long snapper. Per the Giants app. ;)

It's the smart play. Eric was always smarter.

Zak's downfield pursuit on punts was terrific to the end.

I'm not even going to hold a couple bad snaps last year against him. We might be picking 5th or 6th without 'em.
Thanks for the memories Zak!
