which is definitely better than the old system. When info leaks on one guy they leak at least one other guy too. You'd rather no leaks but that's hard in the NY market, this is definitely an upgrade over the Reese regime

So far the giants are drafting Becton, Simmons, wirfs, Thomas or okudah. Yup, the giants are definitely showing their cards in who they are drafting.

And no matter who they select, the board will be flooded with gettleman telegraphed his pick yet again. Everyone knew exactly who he was going to draft

So naturally Dave will choose him.

and I have a feeling most other teams feel that is their guy. I think the giants have been pretty easy to read here but only time will tell..

I just cant get behind a guy who alot of people say would be a better as a guard with pick #4.

Id be ok with any other OT (not thrilled since i like Simmons and Okudah better).

Becton also has the lowest floor. Personally, I'd rank him 4th just because he is the least polished of the 4.

Wirf's ceiling may have the highest ceiling based on his underwear olympics performance and potential (Flowers had a lot of that), but I'd rather have Wills, who seems more like a sure-thing, who's FLOOR (solid, day-one starter until he retires) is the highest in the class.

#1 - you are not a remote thrower

#2 - Wirfs seems to have the highest floor - he is the one guy I think will be exactly what you see

The guy I am extremely cautious about is Becton. Wirfs seems the least likely to fail.

The other three are the most pro ready now but they're also a lot closer to being maxed out. That's particularly true of Thomas and Wills b/c of Saban's system (and Smart copied Saban's system to a "T").

I don't think it's going to matter b/c I think DG is going to take Simmons if he's there and Wirfs if he's not.

If the Giants trade out of the #4 spot, then things can change.

I'd say Jedrick Wills is the least likely to fail.

At #4 it's Isaiah Simmons over Tristan Wirfs every day of the year IMO.

I'd take Wirfs only in a trade-down where we pick up at least a high second rounder.

Wirfs has and still is both my preference and prediction. I believe he is a turnkey All Pro type right tackle.

Charles : Being the least polished might matter if your VP-GM is on thin ice , punctuated by the prospect of reduced practices / training & even season .

LOL. These guys just put out name after name then after the draft say "see I had it all along".

I prefer guys like Cosell that sometimes buck the trends but don't run from their mistakes when they're wrong.

How many guys can you point to before your credibility goes in the crapper?

Outer orbit reporters and draftnicks don't have sources inside the Giants.

Frankly I'd hope even the writers who do have ties to the team aren't getting good intel until it doesn't matter.

First, we are taking BPA at #4.

If it goes Burrows, Young, Okudah (Detroit needs a CB and he is a blue chipper) then at #4 we will get trade offers and need to take the best one of the bunch and not look back.

Steve, said GM was also harping about selecting guys who would wear gold jackets.

I also think DG being on thin ice might prompt him to make a decision with short term thinking ahead.

Hopefully the lack of a Clowney deal means he isn't.

Wirfs has the higher (and more achievable) upside. Becton is bigger, that's it.

34" arms are short?

There happen to be some vines on the top OT prospects this year, but strictly on measurables, Wirfs is straight out of central casting for an NFL OT.

The other day, I was struck not only by how he couldn’t adjust to the cross face outside in stunts, but it also seemed he sort of just got in the way rather than getting on guys and sustaining a block. I don’t think pancakes are critical, but it did concern me that this won’t be enough at the next level where guys are faster and use their hands better.

But I’m back to wanting the OT and thinking the giants take the OT too. There’s no way Young makes it to 4 and I’m assuming some teams won’t consider Simmons a complete bullet proof player, while one of the OTs likely is bullet proof. Sprinkle in the huge need.... it all adds up.

If we go OT just get the guy most pro-ready because we need him this year, not 2 years from now

I think by the time the pick happens, no matter who it is, I am just going to be relieved its over and done. Who ever it is I will probably just accept in and move on.

I admit that. But I do think Becton has more upside then Wirfs if all things are equal, particularly if his back is 100%.

But I don't think Miller is plugged into the Giants at all. He basically died on the Haskins to the Giants hill last year, this is dating from pre-combine to as late as the week before the draft. I don't think he's that strong in his evals either, he's kind of a hack all around.

Over these made up rumors.

playing the OLine. Having a guy like him will be a huge asset not only in the outside zone running game and the screen game as well.

Actually the speculation is part of being a fan, part of the fun at least for me. This is what these guys do, and most of the predictions are possibilities.

Miller is not much different than these other beats.. They tend to be gullible and quick to react to something they hear.. maybe that's out of the desire to report it first, I don't know. Not to say Miller is like a Raanan, where people feed him bullshit. Miller just has a tough time "sorting through the trash" - as I say quite often.

What these writers and novice scout types have to understand, scouts and coaches are very confident people. They'll often times project their opinions as fact. Some of my good friends do that, luckily I know them well enough.
