Long-time BBI member Ed A. passed away on Friday

Eric from BBI : Admin : 4/5/2020 1:08 am
BBI lost one of its dearest and greatest members on Friday. Ed Abramson passed away six days short of his 81st birthday on Friday.

I had the pleasure of meeting Ed and his wonderful wife Sheila many years ago... two of the nicest human beings and biggest Giants fans you'll ever meet. Ed and his family were significant supporters of the site, including when we were struggling to survive.

His son Russ sent me the following:

Quote:
I can’t tell you how much BBI meant to my dad. He would spend hours every day reading it. Whenever a GM blew a draft pick or made a bad trade or free agent signing, the first thing out of his mouth was “I have to login into BBI, they must be going crazy on there about this”.

Your site brought so much joy to him. We had hour long conversations in front of the computer reading the corner forum together, laughing, calling posters knuckleheads and enjoying every minute.

...My dad will live on for me reading BBI everyday thinking of him, us, our conversations and how much we truly love the New York Football Giants, even when they suck.

The prayers of my family are with Ed, Sheila, Russ, and the entire Abramson crew tonight.

I'm sure others on BBI who knew the family would want to know.

and I wish my fellow Giants fan Brother a great journey in the afterlife -- maybe you can help with a perfect storm like some of our other great spirits who have passed Ed. I know Berrlish would be happy to escort your ashes to another Superbowl
My condolences...

I believe I met him once at a training camp BBI meet up. Very nice guy and sports fan. If I am recalling correctly, he had his own specially made BBI hat. Sending happy thoughts to the family.
