Less options at QB. Tua will probably drop, maybe even out of the first round and Herbert is the highest rated QB for Miami or the Chargers.
To get a healthy player that can play week 1 Miami could stay put, but rick the the Chargers jumping ahead or Miami might want to move up to secure their own pick.
Injuries are never good news, but this could increase the value of a guy like Hebert, and increase the sense of urgency of teams looking QB to trade up.
Less options at QB is bad for the Giants. It means there's one less QB for a team to fall in love with and be willing to sacrifice assets in order to move up. It's not like a team is going to value Herbert and Tua the same. They will fall in love with one or the other or neither, but not likely both.
know he is not playing this year. He is not going to drop and Football will be lucky to have a season let alone play a rookie QB without training camps.
BBI exists for fantasy and delusion. Why should this be any different?
Its not hard to imagine Okudah and Simmions being #1 on some teams board. QB is not the only reason for a team to trade up. May see some savy team trade up to get young
So no team would like about this so that he falls?
other GMs aren’t getting duped by reports leaked by their competition - they know about deception too.
This is for fans to eat up and speculate about. And as much of a health risk I think he is I’m not sure what this report is even saying. He broke his wrist before and it happened again in college - so is it broken now? If not why the failed physical?
I've heard nothing of a failed physical but even if we did it's still early in his rehab process and we're months away from any real football activities. There is a concern with how well he'll hold up in the NFL.. Miami and LA have to decide if that's too much of a concern.
Also how do you fail a physical when you cant meet with him? It could just be a way to take him off the board so the fans of that team dont go ballistic. "We didnt take him because he failed the physical"

No offense, but I believe there is a thread designated for covid 19. We get more info, mostly negative, in many other places, please try to refrain from interjecting more negativity football threads
Again, no offense, not trying to be snarky. But just listened to morning news, and stepped away with coffee to visit my favorite Giants site, and clicked on interesting thread to find out how it might impact the Giants, not to read more about this dire situation.
Salgaro is a good reporter. He doesn't make crap up. I don't make a board, but if I did I wouldn't go near this guy. If it was one injury, fine, but he if you looked in Websters Unabridged and looked up "injury prone", you would see Tua's picture next to it!
Anybody thinking this is good news for the Giants is

You still have access to medical records and films. You can also pose hypotheticals to physicians regarding the types of hits a player will take
Might drop out of the top ten overall but I don’t think he makes it out of the first round. What does it even mean that he’s failing his physical? Maybe he’s not back 100% but it’s not like he won’t play again. I think the bigger issue is whether or not teams believe in the “injury prone” label.
teams apparently failed him. Lying season is certainly here, but this seems plausible. My belief is that Miami will trade with Detroit for Herbert, and no one will want to trade with the Giants for Tua. That leaves us at #4, unless someone wants to move up for Simmons, Okudah, Brown, or an OT, which is certainly possible.

Sorry, but I am not seeing why he should not be able to say how a situation impacting the globe may also have an effect on the very topic of this thread. No offense intended, but come on man...
isn't a weird thing to say on a football thread. Its very much in jeopardy and lets say the season was cancelled (I don't believe that) but wouldn't that give another year for Tua to heal making him less risky?
This is all just stuff we are pulling from our asses but you need to get used to talking about a messed up NFL season in NFL threads.

Sounds like we found one of the reasons why the thread is no longer pinned.
no GM is going to see this report and get scared. They are going to do what they always do and that's try to uncover everything they can about the player and make their decision from there - this report has no bearing on anything other than something for all of us to waste time talking about.
Even if he sits an entire year. Chris Grier is starting to feel the pressure after trading away his 2016 selection Tunsil and 2018 Minkah, then trading a 2nd for Rosen. Anyone paying attention to the Miami situation can see they are desperate for a quarterback. Tua buys Grier time even if hes "injured." Dolphins are so desperate they are considering trading 4 1st rounders to Cincy for Burrows. Giants are well aware and are definitely looking to capitalize.
Young is a Redskin. I mean, it's as much a lock as any pick in years.
And yes, this is lying season for some of these teams. Miami might have put that out hoping to drive Tua's value down so they can snatch him while staying put.

That’s possible. I’ve said before I think Mia can sit tight & take 1 or the other. Already are on their way to turning around thru FA. With 6 picks, I think, in 1 & 2, they stand to make last year well worth it.

What price to move down is too costly?

People say the Lions are fine w Stafford. Think he’d pass every creams physical these days?

Unless he failed for the hip I don’t buy it.
Jordan Love, Justin Herbert may also tempt teams to trade up.
But more risk will be taken after that round 1 for players that may need more development time due to league delays, etc.
The NFL may have a shortened season, who really knows at this point.
well done

This x1000. Absolutely someone(likely the Dolphins) throwing it out there to cool interest in him.
