On now

"Informed opinion" that Giants want to trade down 1-5 spots.

Some concern with Tua re: Medicals, which hurts Giants ability to trade down

Thinks they prefer Wirfs

Not a ton of new info.

Doesn't think Engram will be traded.
The Tua news could be complete BS
Jay on the Island : 4/9/2020 11:50 am : link
leaked by a team(s) to get him to fall to them. If it's genuine that could make teams even more desperate for Herbert which could help the Giants if the Lions are set on Okudah.
It's getting tough

But, he really has nothing new there.
DG already told everyone he was interested in trading down, but not too far.
Wirfs is being mocked to the Giants by a number of folks.

What news does he have on Simmons?

Haha, i had the same exact reaction.

sounds like the Giants are saying we are open for business.
The trade down info is good
Jint Fan in Buc Land : 4/9/2020 12:04 pm : link
It’s not a given they won’t fall in love and ask for too much. This isn’t specific obviously but it’s still encouraging
besides making "sense"
Dave on the UWS : 4/9/2020 12:05 pm : link
with all his injuries, the reporter who is behind the Tua story Armando Salgaro of the Miami Herald is legit. He doesn't "make up" stuff. The key is Detroit. If the top 3 goes chalk (Burrow, Young and Okudah), the Giants can ask for the moon with Herbert being the only QB teams would want to trade up for. They can ask (and get) more than they would if there were 2 guys healthy and worth it. If Detroit makes the trade, they are likely screwed out of a trade down.
Jim, DG said that a while ago
Dave on the UWS : 4/9/2020 12:10 pm : link
right after JJ "mentioned" something to that affect. Judge has a VERY strong personality. I think he will have more influence on what the team does than people think. If they get a legit offer, I can see JJ getting Getts to pull the trigger where he otherwise wouldn't.
If they move to say 7. get an additional 2 and 3 (and a 2 next year- my price), they can draft Wirfs, a center and edge or receiver the first 3. then the rest of the draft is to fill out depth. They could be in pretty good shape at that point.
Detroit is also in the trade down business
jeff57 : 4/9/2020 12:14 pm : link
See link. So if Tua injury concern is real, may be harder for Giants to trade down.

How do you bluff a failed medical this year?
Lionhart28 : 4/9/2020 12:20 pm : link
Didn't the NFL teams agree on a single doctor to perform Tua's medical re-check a few weeks back and he said he was fine?

Either way, either he failed it and 32 teams know or he didn't and 32 teams know.
i think its pretty obvious
ryanmkeane : 4/9/2020 12:25 pm : link
that the Tua stuff is BS. Wouldnt the top media outlets be reporting it?

Which would leave Okudah there for the Giants to take.

Exactly. To me, this reeks of intentional information put out there by a team to try to get him to fall a few spots.
I believe Herbert will rise ..
RAIN : 4/9/2020 12:31 pm : link
and will make the Giants pick more attractive. Happens every year.

Eason will creep into the top 20.

I could be wrong with the risk aversion being high this year, but Players like Tua do not come along very often. I would not be surprised if the Chargers and Giants/Lions have a deal in place to take either Herbert or Tua.

To make this work, the Giants need to leak some Okudah love to keep Detroit at #3.

I feel like this happens every draft season with a top prospect. Combine news is that the physical was great and then when April comes around, reports come out that teams have concerns or failed said prospect. Sometimes it’s fluff, sometimes it’s real, I.e. Myles Jack
RAIN- I don't think they need to bogus leak
Dave on the UWS : 4/9/2020 12:55 pm : link
anything about Okudah, He is a distinct possibility for them.
The questions about Tua's medicals are this. When did he pass/fail them? If the most recent ones are positive, then he will be in the mix at 3 or 4, if not he may drop.

I agree, plus any team that wants to draft Tua will rely on their own doctors' review his medicals and whatever physical can be done these days.

They won't second guess their own doctors based on a rumor about what some other team's doctor said.
the tua news which is not to be believed
GiantsFan84 : 4/9/2020 1:43 pm : link
doesn't kill the giants if they want to trade down.

4 of the 5 of okudah, simmons, herbert, derrick brown, and tua will be available for their pick. all they need is for one team in the top 10 to fall in love with one of those guys for them to get a nice package

those are all big time prospects. the offer they get might not be perfect, but if they want an OT it doesn't make sense to pick one at 4. the run on OT's will start at pick 8.
I think RAIN is suggesting
JonC : 4/9/2020 1:50 pm : link
if the Lions think they need to stick to #3 to ensure their target, then the Giants would be in the trade down seat for a QB hungry team. Trade down for picks and still get their target, if it's OT.

I still want to see the Redskins pick Simmons and give Young a chance to reach NYG.
Trade down suggests to me..

Not really. They trade down to Miami or LAC and there's a good chance they could still get Simmons.

Supply and demand would seem to favor the Giants.

If washington passes on Young is it worth teading with Det to get Young?
Need to see what the cost would be
JonC : 4/9/2020 2:48 pm : link
as it would certainly require future draft picks, but I'd certainly be inclined to make the trade up.
