I am tired of hearing about Baker.
I hope the kid resolves his issues. .... it sucks that the Giants missed again, with another 1st Rd pick. Blame DG or not.....I do not care. Probably the same guys blaming DG, also complained for spending a ton of asset on so many DBs! Either way, just another example that the draft is a crap shoot?
I say....it is a great opportunity for Judge to send a message to the entire team....a 1st Rder can get cut....anyone can. No one owns a spot....they must earn it.

If Jones....turns out to be a franchise QB....take some of the sting off.

Reese had some disasters, and that is why he is gone. Under Gettleman, we have gotten Barkley, Jones, Lawrence, and Thomas. Baker was a late first rounder. It is the only miss so far for Gettleman in the 1st, and that was because of off the field crap. Based on talent alone, he was a starting CB.
I don’t know why people are saying he is slot only. I’m not an expert on him as I rarely watch the PAC 10. Obviously he does have the skill set to play the slot, and that is what they drafted him for, with the slot being a huge weakness, and Baker and Bradberry slated in as starters.
If the Giants were to pick up a corner to play the slot like a Logan Ryan, could Holmes play outside CB, or is his skill set not fit for that?

Holmes "slot" talk came from senior bowl.....he seems to show special slot corner skills.....if that is the case...leave him in slot.

Gettleman has Barkley, Jones, Lawrence, Baker, Thomas. 2 of these guys are franchise changers (if Jones is "the guy") and Lawrence looks the part coming off a good rookie year. Jury out on Thomas, Baker probably done. But still, that's still very good, just depends on Jones.

I didn’t say Thomas was a hit. I listed Gettleman’s 1st rounders and said Baker was the only miss so far. Thomas is TBD obviously. I agree it fair to criticize Gettleman for FA and other moves, but his drafting has been an overall strength so far
I would look hard at bringing in another vet, to basically give Beal/Holmes/etc another season
Look, if he did this he's getting (at least) suspended and probably cut. But one article on TMZ and we're sure he's done? Isn't there any room for the guy to defend himself or tell his side of the story or grow up?
As for Gettleman, honestly I think he should get credit for backfilling the position behind Baker so that if things don't work out for any reason (on the field or off) the Giants have plenty of other young/talented guys to get a shot.
