I know he battled with health issues for the last few years. One of the greatest coaches in NBA history.

Great coach but also a very good defensive player back in the day. Hell of a basketball career.
RIP, Coach.

The coach of my favorite NBA team. It's unfortunate that his Jazz ran into the buzzsaw that was the Bulls in those two NBA Finals. He along with Stockton, Malone, and Horneck should all have retired as champions.
RIP.

Great coach. Those late '90s Jazz teams were good, but they fielded better teams in the early '90s. The league had been so diluted by then.
I'm getting old - I remember him as a player for the Bulls

LOL - everyone on here is saying "great coach", which he was, but the first thing I thought of was his playing days
A really good player too.

and Norm VanLeir (sp) in the backcourt. Bob Love and Chet Walker at forward and Clifford Ray/Tom Boerwinkle sharing the center position. Bob Weiss was the third guard.

And, yes, he was a hell of a player and a hell of coach. RIP.
use to dive around and give up his body like .
