You are a really weird dude. I'm assuming that's a shot at his missed layup vs. the Pacers in '95. Like, honestly F off if you're going to take a veiled shot at a man in the hospital.
Get better

Yep. That's exactly what it's a reference to.

He'll be fine. 00000000000000000000000000000000000000001% chance it won't be good.

Ewing is squarely in the demographic that this virus is killing. He grew up in poverty, and he's a black man of a certain age.... I am worried for him.
Route 9 is killing it these days.

What a prince.
Correct me if I'm wrong; I looked quickly and didn't find anything
Matt M. : 5/23/2020 1:45 am : link
Didn't Ewing have a respiratory condition? It may have been nothing, but he wore a t-shirt under his jersey in college and the NBA when he was drafted did not allow that. The Knicks petitioned the league to allow it on the grounds of a medical need. The league rejected the request. He was always grabbing tissues when he went to the bench and supposedly is a germophobe.

Truly, some of you are weird....YOU had to reach for that.
He’s only 57, and has access to the best health care.

So he has a lot going for him in his recovery. Still, anyone who gets hospitalized with COVID-19 is in significant danger of death or lasting effects.

I haven’t seen cross-tabs on Coronavirus data that illuminate the combinations of risk factors very well. We know that older patients fare poorly, that women do better than men, and that people of color have been hit especially hard. But there’s a lot of noise from our linkage of health care to wealth and employment, and the hesitancy of undocumented immigrants to seek help, for obvious reasons. (No need to get political - that’s just the reality, no matter where one stands on immigration.) The point is, Patrick Ewing’s outlook may be no worse than if he were an otherwise-healthy, rich, 57-year-old white male.

Odds aside, he’s fighting a very nasty, dangerous disease. Best wishes to him and all the families touched by the pandemic.

Sorry for my last reply.
BBI decided to die on me. Origin error message...
I tried to hit the back button and then post again, but I guess everything I typed was lost.... Grrrrrr!

I don't even feel like typing out that whole long message again!

Short version.

I live in MD. Here we have Prince Georges County, the richest majority black county in the nation. It has one of the worst COVID outbreaks in the world still to this day (as measure of number of deaths). The reason why is, it does not matter how rich you are now, or what access you have to the best healthcare. If you grew up poor, or spent significant portions of your life poor in America you are very likely to have a co-morbid condition. And COVID-19 is excellent at exploiting any existing co-morbid conditions to kill you outright.

That's nice. I always thought Oakley didn't love Ewing. Maybe I was wrong, b/c Oak certainly hasn't mellowed.

It's kind poor timing that he recently knocked Ewing's performance in the 93 playoffs. I'm sure he now wishes he could take that back.
