I want to paint my trex stairs (lava rock) to my wood porch that I want to paint. Is there any way to know what color brown it is in paint? I keep looking but cannot find.
And bring to either Lowe’s or Home Depot to match the color. But being you are trying to match an artificial product with wood you may have a hard time getting a perfect match? Generally both places can match paint and stain for wood.
Good luck!
if you don't know a paint color at home, no worries. New technology now. Bring a chip of that paint to your local store, and they will match off of that.
RE: IMO take a leftover scrap piece from the stairs
I was also playing with the Benjamin Moore app to match the color. Came up with a good choice. I would be curious if the store matched it the same. I scanned the wood piece I had on my printer and got a good sample color.

I would recommend Benjamin Moore instead of HD or Lowes.

One may not think paint from one manufacturer is very different from another, but it is. A great paint from Ben Moore is usually only $10-15 more per gallon than others and worth every penny. You will also get better advice from the owners of the local store as opposed to the workers of a box store.
