from a racing standpoint. But night races always bring out something extra in these drivers, you're more likely to see fireworks.
Martin Truex Jr. has typically dominated night races including this particular race, he's been the fastest car on 1.5 mile ovals over the last few years, and he's already climbing up spots in this race. He is undoubtedly the heavy favorite tonight.
But part of why he was so good over the years is because of his crew chief, who retired after last year. It will be interesting to see if that affects him in the latter stages of this race.
As I recall almost did not have a ride or a seat this season. Maybe it was last year.
That is virtually unheard of the prior year champ not having a ride. I think it was more due to the sponsor, not renewing things.
Night race or always interesting. I would suggest watching a race from Bristol. Those can get really interesting. If you watching the lower series, The Busch races and the Craftsman Truck. Those get interesting at Bristol. Younger up and coming drivers in powerful machines racing. Note, I am using series names for by gone era. The series names seem to change every 2 or 3 years, these days.
The various strategist that team implore make the race interesting. Thing get more interesting if you start to follow a drive or two.
I have various drivers I pull for for various reasons. Some is for linage of the family, son of a father and now car owner, to use to drive for team X and does wish him well...IE puling for Truex.
Personally, I wish we could see more tech that surround and go into the cars. These is a ton of money poured into these cars, but it is all behind the scenes.
Enjoyed watching the Cole 600, last night and this morning. God bless youtube. Turned the race off at lap 203. watched the race replay and highlight at lap 209.
Glad you gave racing a chance. It has it's drama, personalities and what not. Just watch the highlights of the race from Darlington this past Wednesday (see below). Sucks for #9, but drama for Nascar
Coming up next Sunday. I would definitely recommend it.
I also totally agree about fans having more ability to see the tech. I would also love it if fans had access to see the steering/braking data on drivers to see how they compared with each other. There is so much about these drivers/teams that we don’t have access to.
Truex had the winning car again last night. Just got hit with some late restarts that put Elliot in control. Sucks that Elliot got screwed by the caution to his teammate Byron. But Keselowski has always had a knack for “stealing wins” late.
