Let us remember those on this Memorial Day, who made the ultimate sacrifice so that others may live.
As we enjoy this Memorial Day with our loved ones, please stay safe and healthy. It’s a day of remembrance of sacrifice, but it’s also a weekend of enjoyment of living. Those who made the ultimate sacrifice don’t want those left behind to spend the day and weekend in gloom. They surely would want others to enjoy living.
Also, for those on active duty and veterans, if you get thanked for your service, be humble and say thank you in return that others are appreciative of your service. Don’t lecture them on the difference between Memorial Day and Veterans Day.

After saying a small prayer for those who died, I suppose it is appropriate to be Happy we can enjoy the unofficial start of Summer season because of the sacrifice of those who died to preserve our freedom.

Of course no loss is something to be happy about, especially to those family and friends directly impacted by such loss; however, you can choose to happily celebrate their lives as well as what they have provided to us while mourning their loss. Memorial is just as much a celebration of selfless devotion as it is a commiseration of sacrifice. I don't believe in Memorial Day as something that we as a nation should be sad about, and honestly that shouldn't and doesn't minimize those losses, in my opinion.
