Healthy Coleman and Sills. Outside of first 3 and Core, all are on roster bubble. I doubt we keep more than 5 because we can potentially flex 2 PS guys to the roster under the new rules unless they think Core is ST only in which case maybe we go with 6.
Why would you put three undrafted players who haven't even caught a single NFL pass ahead of Coleman?
Coleman is coming off a major knee injury. He may not be able to display his speed and without his speed he doesnt make the team. I would say at this point he may be a longer shot than the rookies

I was responding to the OP's ranking which listed Coleman as "healthy".
A healthy Coleman > than most if not all of the rookie WRs. Obviously an unhealthy Coleman is watching the games on TV like the rest of us. But remember, Coleman was a FA and the Giants chose to re-sign him. I doubt they would have done so if they weren't convinced that he could return to health and retain his speed.
RE: RE: Are you going to start one of these threads every week?
Why not mix it up a little? Running Back order, Tight End order, etc.
I think he'll stick with WRs, with a new depth chart thread every 6 days.
Feels a little bit like obsessing over the percentage of visiting fans in the stadium for each game, but what do I know? Link - ( New Window )
Gentlemen, during the season and without the pandemic, I might agree with you both. But I missed last weeks thread and its not total mindless banter, just harmless speculation. A diversion. If you have been diverted already by a similar thread, don't open the current thread. I try to avoid redundant topics, but seeing as I prefer my content Giants oriented, I wind up going into them as well. Heck, post opposing views in each so that in the future you can say you were right and point back to one of the threads ;)
Depth sucks; I agree with Klaatu's post from the 5/21 thread. I like the idea of Hogan, but don't think he'll ask for too much if the 'knee does check out ok'. I think the point might be that the 'depth' isn't on the roster yet. Top three are undisputed as Slayton, Tate and Shepard.
Slayton
Tate
Shep
Coleman (Good KR who actually showed some receiving ability but can't stay healthy)
Core (Mainly STer but does have 33 career catches)
Everyone else.
At least 1 of the WRs will be in the Welker / Edelman / Beasley mold.
The rest of the WRs are undetermined if they will even make the team. Core is strictly a special teamer. He won’t be in the mix for WR.

Coleman is #4 until he isn't

Sills was not selected by the current coaching staff as either a FA, draftee or UDFA
It is hard to see what ST contribution he could make that elevates him over Core or Coleman.
He does not possess outstanding speed or any other attribute that would favor him making the roster much less the #4 wr.

There you have it.
