For a couple of weeks, I've tested and tried to install several different model outdoor antennas unsuccessfully. My local stations are 35 miles from my house but I have a lot of trees in my neighbor's yard blocking a good signal.
I bought a 10 foot conduit pole from Home Depot and tried to mount that to the top of my deck and got better signals the higher I went. I got the local CBS, ABC, FOX and NBC stations but the signals would come in and out as there were still trees that could be blocking the signals.
I figured if I could get an antenna installed on my roof, 30+ feet, it would have a clear view in the direction of the towers. On that note, I returned everything I got back to the stores and gave DISH Network a call.
They're running a promotion, from cordcutters.com, that for $150 one time fee. Tech from DISH Network would come and professionally install the antenna on the roof. That $150 price includes the install fee and price for the antenna. Anyone give this service a try?
