Need a solid, easy to use webcam. Recording Zoom calls for upload to YouTube. 1080p, auto focus, good light adjustment, good mic. Prefer to stay under $200 if possible.
I do about 15 meetings a week and I've never had a complaint. Mic has great range. beats the hell out of using a headset. You can always tell when somebody is using a headset. Logitech C920 - ( New Window )
It works well with a few caveats. At first I couldn't get it to do HD using Zoom / Teams. And the image looked very poor. The included software didn't seem to work correctly. But on the advice of messages in Logitech user forms, I uninstalled the included software and installed "Logitech Capture" instead. Huge difference. All the features work now.
But one issue still remains, at times the camera will appear to become "disconnected" as a USB device under Windows 10. Teams, Zoom, Go to meeting, etc... will say "no camera found". The capture software will report the same. Reboot of Windows fixes it. It always happens if you unplug the camera from USB but sometimes some software glitch seems to cause it as well.
With the Logitech Capture software and knowing that sometimes you have to reboot to recover the camera device connectivity, it's a really nice camera and one of the few < $200 cameras you can still buy for home office use.
as well, Both my desktop PC and my wife's desktop PC use this camera and we actually use it with the older software (Logitech Webcam 2.80) in Windows 10 with no issues. Maybe the new software has newer feature(s) I don't need or use.
If you have this camera I suggest you try both if you can get a hold of the older version as the Logitech Site just seems to have the new Logitech Capture.
Bottom line the best webcam for the money. Click the link to see the cost.
After 42 years in IT, you'd think I could figure this out. Lenovo Windows 10 laptop -camera stopped working a month ago. Lights up,but get message from soon and house party apps that there's a problem w camera. I've downloaded updates from both Lenovo and Microsoft with no changes. Does this external camera fine me? All advice much appreciated.

It also came with a very nice tripod stand.
