he has the steelers as the number 1 team in AFC?!?
Can this guy be taken seriously?
I dont see us going 0-6. I said 8-8 two months ago and im sticking with it. We miss playoffs but arrow pointing up...2021 starts our window
until they give us reason not to. It took a few years for the Eli/Coughlin marriage to bear any fruit. There's no debating the current team has a few inferior defense to the early 2000s Giants but I want to give Judge some time to implement his program and the man truly feels like a winner. LETS GO

lol why? The guy averages 4-5 catches a game and 5-60 yards a game.
I know he gets hurt. But Engram can clearly play at a high level. And he's missed about 1/3rd of the games since joining the NFL. It's not like he NEVER plays.
The key will be health of the OL, Barkley and Jones. Injuries are part of the games but losing our starting OL's especially after the season starts may be tough, especially LT or OC. I mean, we have depth in Fleming and likely Gates for OC but that ain't much.
Jones and Barkley are no trainers.
On defense, I like Ximines and many other of the young guys but until the games begin I just don't know.
If Jones take a leap in progress and cuts his fumbles in half and doesn't make those rookie mistakes this offense could produce.

If Engram could stay healthy for 16 games, there is no reason he could be a 75-900-8 type of guy in this passing league. We shall see.
But people keep focusing on the injuries being the only problem when the truth is that he was inconsistent when healthy. He dropped way too many easy ones for my liking and he's never gonna be an asset as a blocker.

Was Shannon Sharpe a blocker?

True, he did drop too many and he can't block a lick. But he can also destroy a LB in coverage.
All you can do is pray he improves his drops and blocking enough to be serviceable in those areas. The blocking concerns me more actually.
this iwas discussed on another thread, but who are our strong leaders
Some people are "strong leaders with personalities that inspire" and such. HC Parcells is my favorite coach in this department, a true motivator and inspirer.
I "feel" Judge has this nuance about him, this personality. But it will take time for players to take to him I'm sure.
But what players are true lockerroom leaders that you don't mess with? Guys who inspire like LB's Carson, Taylor and Reasons did during Parcell's tenure?
I think LB B. Martinez was signed because he is a "leader type"; however, he isn't a star linebacker who backs up his talk with superb play. He is simply solid enough and smart enough to be serviceable. IMHO.
I think leaders need to emerge from the players. Perhaps guys like Bradlee, Lawrence and ??? have the potential to be leaders.
Saquon strikes me as a nice guy more than a fiery motivator type. D. Jones is a leader but I'm not sure enough yet if he is a motivator type.
One guy that I really like is OT Peart. He has the physique to build into and played a lot on college. He isn't as polished as #1 Thomas but I like what I read about his potential.
He needs a year in the weightroom, sure, but that doesn't mean he can't get some real games in later in the year. It is a long season.
My only concern with Thomas was that it didn't seem like he also tried his hardest against lesser opponents. I'm not sure what to make of that? I think Thomas is a stud RT for sure and LT if he improves his pass protect technique enough.
I still have the OL:
Thomas-Hernandez-Pulley-Zeitler-Solder for game 1 and early season. But man wouldn't it be great to see both Peart and Lemiuex playing some and showing they belong so in 2021 you have:
Thomas-Hernandez-Lemiuex-Zeitler-Peart or something like that?
9-7 is optimistic. And that's what I'm going with.
I guess you shoulda listened to the prediction, because if "Rank is always wrong" the Giants will go 10-6 for the season!

Other than that I kinda like the writer, even though he really didn't offer anything earth-shattering.

I no longer took anything he said as worthwhile.
